CHANEL OMBRES PERLÉES DE CHANEL PALETTE

Everything I've seen and read on line so far has pretty much described this as the new must-have palette of the year.  It is now available at Nordstrom on line, so if you have those Nordstrom notes just waiting, this is the time to use them.

Check your Mac Coral Lassies Lipglass set

I have tried three of these sets from different places; Nordstrom in store, Nordstrom online and Mac online. In all three, the lip glass Jest For Fun smells rank...not in an obvious, "I am rancid" kind of way but more like "in a month, I will be rancid". This really disturbs me...I was hoping the first one was a fluke, but I suspect it's that way system wide, so do me a favor and sniff or taste yours and tell me if it's normal.

Color Club meets China Glaze meets Orly for Christmas Merriment

Because my blue and silver nail montage was such a success, I just couldn't bring myself to follow up with a creme nail or anything...well, normal. This week, I purchased the Enchanted Holiday collection from Color Club at my local Fred Meyer. This has four mini bottles of sparkly goodness. I'd take a picture but it's the middle of the night, so, there ya go.

I started with just one coat of the great sparkly red called Wish List Red. Opaque enough for me with one coat. Just such a gorgeous red with red shimmer.

Color Club Wish List Red

I decided to do gold over the top, but I didn't want it chunky like I had when I did the Opi + Lippmann. I started with a wash of China Glaze Golden Enchantment. This is a multi-colored sparkle, predominately gold, in a sheer base. The multi-colored sparkles give a holographic look to the gold. Really great color to wash over anything for that particular look.

For the heavier deposit of gold at the tip of the nail, I used a mini Orly that I had purchased at Sally's. (Sally's recently opened in my area; I'm glad...my husband, well, not so much.) The Orly is called Hair Band. haha, that's funny. It is a heavier glitter than the CG and I just did the tips till I was happy.

Started with a base of Gelous and finished with an Orly top coat. and wa-la! I'm anxious to do something a bit more "out there" because as an artist, I want to possess all color, often at once. Lol, it's my downfall. But for this week, I shall wear Christmas Merriment of my creation.

China Glaze Phat Santa

Cell phone pictures with not so great light aren't the best. Especially before you've done your clean-up around the nails, but here is China Glaze Phat Santa on me. It bubbled up, I don't know why, but I also thought the color was a little more maroon on me than I'd seen in other swatches online. I'm not crazy about it for my skintone. I think this was three coats cuz I was trying to hide the bubbles...which never works anyway. :)

OPI DS Magic + Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytail = Wintry Sparkle

I loved this combination. I got many compliments on my nails everywhere I went, so I wore it for three weeks. Yes, peeps, three weeks, despite a little grow out at the beds and it took that long to see wear. Glitter polishes, while a challenge to get off sometimes, wear like iron and don't really show wear. I call them fabulous.

I started with a base layer of Gelous, the one with the blue top. Then two layers of OPI DS Magic. I showed my husband and said "whaddaya think", knowing he would hate blue nails. He didn't let me down...he gagged.  I told him, "have faith, I am not done yet". I let all that dry overnight just to make sure I could pull this off right. This is what I showed him, (and I apologize that I hadn't done the clean up yet and that the picture is huge):

The next day, I added Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytail, (or TWAF in nail-speak), in a gradient fashion. A light coat from the base to tip with more concentration at the tip. Total success. Loved it.

Yeah, my first actual post with information and pictures has blurry cell phone pics, but better than nothing! Try this manicure; it rocks.

Guess what I'm doing New Year's Eve?  Yeah, that's right...some fabulous black with Lippmann TWAF in a gradient over the top.
