LA Girls Nail Polish Has New Cracked Top Coat...and More...

So on a wander thru my local Fred Meyer....ummm, I went to buy bread, yeah, that's it...I spotted quite the extra display from LA Girls Nail Polish. Two of the Fred Meyer's in my area are really becoming the drugstore cosmetic meccas. They are definitely bringing what the people want and quickly!! Kudos, Freddies.

Anyway, back to the LA Girls. First I spotted these sets of six polishes. Notice the sheer glitter!

This set is very remniscent to me of the set I just got at Ross on last Friday in the previous post. Then, the second set in the display is called High Impact Nail Color.

As I rounded the aisle, I found these on the end cap:

The above are all cell phone pictures, so in case it's not clear on your screen, the Cracked colors are White, Silver, Turquoise, Pink, Red, Blue, Purple and Black. I purchased the Turquoise because I wanted to compare it to OPI Turquoise, the pink as I have no other pink crackle this color, (waiting for the  OPI Pink Shatter for Breast Cancer Awareness), and the purple to see how it compares to Sally Hansen Vintage Violet Crackle Overcoat.  Looks like fun.  So let's take a little quick view of them, shall we?

Swatched on a nail wheel, this is how they look. They shatter in more of a random pattern than the OPI Shatter colors. The OPIs shatter in a more linear pattern and these Cracked colors somewhat giraffey/somewhat linear.

All three colors I purchased have a light shimmer to them, giving a little hint of a metallic type of finish. The turquoise is named Rupture. It is more aqua than the OPI Turquoise. It is lighter and less blue as well.

I have a picture of both the OPI and LA Girls on a nail wheel, swatched over white. The colors from left to right are OPI White Shatter, OPI Blue Shatter, OPI Turquoise Shatter, OPI Navy Shatter, Sally Hanson Distressed Denim Crackle Topcoat, La Rosa Green Crackle Shatter, LA Girls Rupture, LA Girls Fracture and LA Girls Frag.

You can also compare the colors to the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoats.

The pink color is called Frag and is a yellower softer pink than the Sally Hansen Fuchsia Shock.

The purple is called Fracture.

I photographed the backs of the last two bottles because the black script seemed to take away from viewing the actual color. So what do you think? Are you on crackle/shatter overload yet? Or do you find room for one more?

  2. I saw these the other day at my local Fred Meyer. Along with some crackles from LA Splash. I can't believe how many crackles are available now!

  3. It's funny that when OPI made the first cracle, it sold out and everyone wanted one. Now, I don't know a brand that doesn't have a crackle polish in their line.

  4. @Skin Scrubs...It's called La Rosa and I bought it at a nail salon. I went for a pedicure and my MIL said oh here's that crack stuff you like. I think they had an orange so I'm going to go back and look.

@Peach, what kind of colors did they have from LA Splash?

@Teri...I know, right? So what took them so long? I did a swap with a girl in England when I first heard about the Barry M...all I ask is that someone make a black crackle with multi-colored glitter. I wonder if that would even work, but I want it.
