Wet N Wild We're Blasting Off Dream Weavers Collection Color Icon Trio Swatches and Review

If you regularly view my blog, you saw the overview post of the Wet N Wild Dream Weavers Collection Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios that were introduced for Summer 2011.  These trios are AWESOME!  The shadows are very silky and highly pigmented.  I tend to forget how full of pigment they are until I dig my brush into them like I would any other shadow and then I am amazed at the depth of pigment in the shadows.

Today's featured trio is We're Blasting Off.   It includes a matte pink shade, (labeled as browbone), a complex plummy brown wild some mild sparkle, (labeled as crease shade), an a shimmering lightly rose toned taupe, (labeled as the eyelid shade)

The trios are labeled that way in order to give you an idea of how you can use the shades. Of course, you can use them in any manner that you please. Each trio comes with a mini sponge applicator and a little mini brush. On the back is a diagram that shows the suggested use.

Oh! I thought I heard you say "where's the swatches on the hand?" Well, ask and you shall receive.

I find the pigmentation of these trios to be really awesome and I can't believe the quality of shadow that you receive for just $2.99. These are swatches done with my fingers on skin with no base and the shadows actually apply a bit deeper on the eyes. Remember that these Dream Weavers Collection shadows are limited and if you even have a hint of thought that you might want one or more, grab it while you can!

I thought Taupe lovers might appreciate a closeup of the lid shade.

I tried to capture some of the complexity of the plummy brown but it's pretty much impossible. You have to see it in person to see the flecks of brown, red, and plum. This picture shows some of the nuances of color, but it is darker as in the picture of the full trio.

I've got a few photos of how it looks on the eyes. It has been raining for over a week and it makes photography very challenging for facial pictures but I'll show you what I've got. At the end of this post, you'll see that I had additional challenges during this day.

On this particular day, I paired the trio with Dior blush 889 Pink In Love, to be reviewed in the very near future, as well as Chanel's new lipstick for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale the light peach Desinvolte and a Dior gloss.

And here you have the true challenge to my photography that day.

Photo bombing!!!! Any of you moms out there looking forward to school starting so you can get yourself back on a good schedule?

  1. That looks so pretty, love the browbone colour xxx

  2. I am still waiting for my area to get them we always get everything late and then there's one display of the items in very few stores their gone as fast as they come in I will have to order off line cause I have to have these LOL

  3. I think the photobomb is my favourite part ;)

I LOVE the taupe (I'm a taupe addict). Wet'n'wild are so fantastic (and so cheap, I remember the first eyeliner I ever bought was Wet'n'Wild), I hate that we don't have them in the UK. I always stock up when I visit my mum in California.

    You look beautiful!

  11. Honestly, it feels like this summer has lasted twice as long as it should have. Love the photobomb - that absolutely happens here all the time. And also, I have GOT to get my hands on these palettes - everyone is raving about them.
