China Glaze Optical Illusion Prismatics Collection Nail Polish Swatches and Review

I have been blinded by the glory that is the China Glaze Prismatics Collection of Nail Lacquers and at the risk of breaking the internet, I want to share it with you today. We'll be looking at Optical Illusion, a green base that is loaded with mutiple colors of glitter specks, as well as silver micro-sparkles. There is so much spark and shine in this lacquer, it doesn't translate to photos unfortunately. It's something you have to see to experience. It's just so...BAM!! But I've chosen some pictures that show you the basic color and glitters in it, just imagine silver micro-sparkles all shining from it and you might be able to imagine what it looks like in real life.

Before we look at swatches on the hands, I need to tell you about the recent Wet N Wild ColorIcon Be Jeweled collection nail polishes. Spring 2012 brought us five colors in this collection of 3D type glitter polishes. Very cute!! I was pretty excited when I saw these and swatched them. Then, I got the China Glaze Prismatic Collection and it was like the Wet N Wild on steroids!!! The sparkle and color coverage is intensified. I have a photo showing the two swatch wheels together with the Wet N Wild in the back. I am currently still missing one color of Prismatics, but otherwise, there are some very very similar colors. There is a yellowy green in both, a green, a blue, a violet, a silver...harder to see in a picture but very evident in person. If you loved the Wet and Wild, you will go crazy for the Prismatics.

So onto the hand swatches. Remember that there are silver micro-sparkles in this polish and that doesn't really show except in real life. The camera translates all the sparkles into a big flash of light.

The next photo, I turned my hand to keep some of the sunlight off it so you could see the basic green color better.

So I'm still looking for the sixth color, called Prism, but I'm pretty excited about the ones I have in the meantime. Have you tried these? Did you get the Wet N Wild Be Jeweled collection? Are you just sick of glitter or are you like me where you just can't get enough?

    1. Just TWO coats! Thanks for asking because it's important to include that. This polish has full opacity in application, unlike so many glitters that need three or four coats to show up. I maybe could have done just one coat but I'm a two coat girl!!

  4. I love your photos. I think you did a terrific job! I'm not sure how you keep your nails looking so gorgeous! I love glitter, so I would agree with you, "Can't get enough!" Thank you for the post! x

    1. Thanks, I take Biotin to help keep my nails strong. I'd just cut them down by 1/4" or so and they look a little short to me. :)

  5. I picked it up today and think with the right minty green undercoat, it might be a good dupe for Deborah Lippman's Mermaid. I should be able to find one in my collection - I probably have more than a handful having just picked up WnW Megablast in I Need a Refresh-mint and CGs Kinetic Candy.
