If you have read any of my Nars Summer 2012 collection posts, (located here, and here, and finally, here), you might notice that I whined a lot about not having ordered the Pure Matte Lipstick Moscow when I placed my initial order on Nars.com. You might remember me talking about how hesitant I was to order a matte lipstick sight unseen. I like to check those out in person to see if they will pull my lips off or if they're comfortably wearable.
It seemed like my Nordstrom and my JC Penney Sephora were never going to get it in stock for me to look at. Didn't they know the angst in my need to see this??? So I stalked other blogs for more information. When I visited Cafe Makeup, I became convinced that this would be a wearable matte and I ordered.
Nars Pure Matte Lipsticks are in a slim tube, making application a breeze. It's easy to apply it where you want it to be. Sometimes, if you apply a pigmented matte lipstick and go over the line, ugh, you're stuck with a goofy look until you wash your face. This kind of tube enables the precise application that I need in a matte lipstick.
I did, indeed, find this to be very comfortable while worn. I took Amy's advice from above and moistened my lips with a little balm first. I let that sink in for a bit and once I was ready to put on the lipstick, I dabbed it off and like a first grader with a new crayon, I ran it over my lips with fresh excitement.
I like it!! (I should have warned you...my invisalign trays were redone again and for the next six months, you'll be treated to the nifty extra plugs they put on my teeth that help the invisalign to work.)
I got the seal of approval from the hubster as I paired Moscow with the new Chanel eyeshadow duo Sable-Emouvant.
Be thankful, I am sparing you a grip too tight on the flat iron over the bangs. Holy curly bangs, Batman. I semi-fixed those later. I also have an arm swatch for you to consider.
The Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Moscow was a dream to wear. It wore well through lunch and shopping and never felt tight or dry. The lipsticks can be found for $25 at Nordstrom, Sephora, Nars and any other department store that carries this brand.
