Today, I have some quick photos to show you of Make Up Forever's Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick No. 9. My friend Cindy at Prime Beauty recently had a post showing swatches of these lipsticks. I found the description intriguing...a balm type of texture, comfortable and moisturizing with more staying power than a tinted lip balm. Cindy suggested to me that I should check these out on my next trip thru Sephora, and I did. I decided to try No. 9, which Sephora describes as a coppery pink. I'd call it a rosey nude on my lips, the type of shade that I'm often drawn to. While I love my fuchsias and corals, I also love a quick natural lipstick that I can wear with anything and this seemed like a good place to start.

The lipstick is $19 and applies with the ease of a balm. It feels very moiturizing to wear and comfortable. These lipsticks are a Sephora exclusive. I'm going to show you a couple of lip swatches where I had my invisalign trays out, so the buttons on my teeth are more obvious than usual. Hopefully those will be gone in just five more months.

You can see that this is a pearly finish lipstick, having hidden micro-shine that gives a nice glow to it. Based on my first venture with this product, I feel it's an absolute success and can't wait to try a purple or fuchsia next. MUFE is a great artist brand and the quality of their products just can't be beat. Listen to Cindy and give them a try!!
It looks very natural on you and if I didn't know otherwise, I would have just assumed you have perfectly even colored, shiny lips naturally - and isn't that exactly what we look for in an "everyday" lipstick?
ReplyDeleteyes, indeed! perfect everyday lipstick.
DeleteVery pretty lipstick shade!
ReplyDeleteIt is. I'm going to take a little more time next trip to Sephora and look a little deeper into what they have.
DeleteThanks for the shout out, Polarbelle! I love these and now have 4 I think. Folk, from the La Boheme collection -a bright coral, #18 a soft pink, #35 a beautiful iridescent bright pink orange and #40 a pastel peachy coral. Can you tell I like coral? Now you have to try Shiseido's Shimmering Rouge a close runner up!
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking those later today, Cindy. Thanks for the tip. I'm a coral fiend, too!
