From the Algenist website: "Leveraging the science of biotechnology, this advanced microdermabrasion peel resurfaces the skin with a 10% acid duo (patent-pending Alguronic Acid + Glycolic Acid) in a potent combination with a 10% fruit enzyme complex and micro polishing crystals to immediately transform skin texture & tone."
The people at Algenist have discovered a remarkable ingredient that is the key to the success of their products. Alguronic Acid has been shown to provide significant protection from UV cell damage and DNA damage. It was found in a specific strain of microalgae and Alguronic Acid is a trademarked name for this specific compound. It promotes skin regeneration which helps repair those deep wrinkles. I would urge you to check the links to the website that give you more information.

From the website, this is how it works: "Micro polishing crystals mechanically lift off larger skin-dulling cells and buff rough skin to reveal a new radiant skin surface. The acid duo and fruit enzyme complex work deep into the epidermis to lift away dull skin cells and to reveal skin that appears regenerated, smoother and more even."
These are the active ingredients in the peel:
Alguronic Acid/Glycolic Acid Duo: Generates dermal cell renewal by removing the top layer of cells to regenerate smoother, more even skin underneath.
Micropolishing Crystals: Supports mechanical epidermal exfoliation to lift off larger skin-dulling cells and buffs away rough skin to reveal a radiant new skin surface.
Pumpkin & pomegranate fruit enzymes: Helps the enzymatic dissolution of smaller skin-dulling cells
These are the inactive ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Algae Exopolysaccharides, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Algae Extract, Glucosamine HCL, Galactoarabinan, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Leuconostoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Urea, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Magnesium Oxide, Fragrance (Parfum), Limonene, Phenoxyethanol.
To use this product, apply an even layer to clean, moist skin, avoiding the eyes. Using circular motions, gently activate the micro-crystals to polish the skin. Leave on for 3-5 minutes, then remove using warm water or a warm, wet facecloth. Apply up to twice a week. Use only as directed. You need to be sure to use sunscreen and limit exposure while using this or any product containing alphahydroxy acids, (AHAs).

When I started using this product, in combination with my other skincare, I saw a dramatic difference in how my skin looked. It glowed with a natural texture that was renewed and improved. I had recently started to have some expanding pores which were a concern and the Micropolish & Peel, I believe, is responsible for their newly toned state and for stopping the expansion. My pores are more clear. My skin is smoother. With regular use, my skin looks like I've had one of those fancy Hollywood facials....you know the ones the stars get before they go to the Golden Globes or the Oscars, so that their skin glows with smoothness and reduced lines and wrinkles. My skin looks like that. I'm so thankful to have been able to use this product and experience what it has done for me. I say you need this. Everyone needs this.
You can purchase this Algenist product on their website, Sephora or QVC. The retail price is $75 and worth every single penny! Also, there is currently a special on the Algenist website of a deluxe size Complete Eye Renewal Balm with any $50 purchase. That's a great gwp!! You can follow Algenist on Twitter, and on Facebook for product information and announcements of specials and sales.

This sounds like such a great product. I haven't tried it, nor have I tried the other two you love: Eye Renewal Balm & the Firming and Lifting Eye Gel. Must put this on my list!! Thank you for the review! x
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure when I started this if there would be a noticble difference but I really wish I had before and after pics. My skin is clear and glowing in the middle of the cold dry winter. I usually look half-alligator by now, lol, but my skin looks fresh. My only real problem is that I'm often lazy at night but adding 3 to 5 minutes for the results I get are really worth it.
