Another Surgery...

Yo, yo, peeps...I had to have another unexpected surgery last week.  I think I'm going to be posting regularly soon but boy oh boy, my poor computer has just been sitting all lonely and alone.  This is my 3rd surgery in the past 11 months and my sixth in two years.  The morale of the story is don't ever have any kind of accident.

Anyway, I'm not really someone who puts all kinds of personal information on the interwebz but I just really want you to know that I miss my readers and the interaction and I think of you every day.  I do have some great things I want to tell you about.  I'm starting physical therapy for this latest incident Wednesday and I know that will wear me out some too, but I am determined to report of some things that make all of this a bit easier.

Take care, my peeps and know that I haven't forgotten you.  <3

I am unable to reply to comments...

I wanted you all to know that I read and appreciate every comment on my blog.  I appreciate the time it takes to stop and make that comment.  I have been unable to respond to them online, via my phone and via the Blogger App.  I'm not sure what's wrong but I'm looking into it.

Please know I'm not ignoring you and I hope to have this glitch figured out soon.

Studio Gear Hydrating CC Color Correction Cream in Natural Swatches and Review

When I was offered the chance to test Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream, I was pretty excited to try it and see how this CC cream actually works.  (CC stands for color correcting).  I received a full sized 1 fl oz, ($34), of the SPF 20 CC Cream in the color of my choice, which was Natural.

The Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream comes in Linen, Natural and Wheat.  I am a light to medium toned person with beige undertones and while my skin is fairly light most of the year, my beigey-ness lends me to usually wear a light-to-medium toned foundation.  I picked the middle color, Natural, and it is a perfect match for me.

Imagine my surprise when I squeezed some product out of the tube and it was WHITE!!!

The CC Cream contains micro-encapsulated pigments which when rubbed on the skin, transform to match each person's own skintone.  I'd love to see the two other colors to see if they would match me in some fashion, too.  I wonder how far the transformation goes.   Below you will see that I began to spread the little dot around on my hand.  At the bottom of the picture, you can see a couple places where the CC cream starts to make the transformation into my skin color.

After rubbing it completely into my skin, you can see that it matches perfectly with a hint of sheen left to give a natural looking finish.

After the product dries a little more, it becomes a little more matte.  It gives a nearly medium coverage and if you have any deeper red spots, you'll still need a concealor to cover them.  Apply daily over your moisturizer, or by itself as needed.  Use alone or under another foundation.  I use this alone.

What They Say:

Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.
Key Benefits:
  • Protects:  SPF 20 protects the skin, while Hydra-Extend technology provides moisture for up to 72 hours.
  • Perfects:  Enjoy natural looking coverage while micro-encapsulated pigments perfects and fade dark spots and acne scarring.
  • Corrects:  Anti-aging and collagen building ingredients help minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Hydrates:  Hydra-Extend technology provides up to 72 hours of continuous hydration.
  • Conceals:  Micro encapsulated pigments deliver a fresh dose of color that adapts to your own skin tone, creating the most natural looking coverage.
  • Smoothes:  Skin nourishing ingredients help to correct and maintain youthful complexion.

My Evaluation:

I really like this CC Cream.  Really.  I'll be repurchasing once I am done with this one.

The idea behind BB and CC creams is that when you use them in the long term, they are supposed to nourish and brighten skin, evening the complexion to provide a more youthful look.  I have only had this about a week, so I can't attest to the long wear properties but I do know that I like the finish and the coverage and look forward to seeing what the long term effects are.

Majestical.com Jewelry Review and Giveaway!!

When I was contacted by Majestical Jewelry and asked if I'd like to check out what they have and run a giveaway for them, I thought, "well, this could be interesting!"  Little did I know they would send me a set to play with that I would absolutely ADORE and be able to wear with 1000 different outfits.  I LOVE THIS SET!!!!  Love it!!!!

As you can see, there is a pendant necklace that is a hammered gold tone with a faceted turquoise piece in the middle.  What I really love about the styling of this necklace is that the pendant sits on a chain that is actually four chains together!!  The necklace has a creative movement to it in the four chains that are doubled up to the first clasp and create a depth to the necklace that only adds interest to the pendant.  Love it!!

The pendant piece is 2.5" across and the chain is an 18" piece of art with an extender so that you can wear the pendant at 18" length or a 20" chain length.  It's versatile.  The earrings mirror with pendant with the same hammered gold and faceted turquoise interior.  They are on wires and are 1" across each...the perfect size to be seen in my long hair.  Anything smaller and they just fade against the background of my hair.

In the following pictures, I am wearing the jewelry with a casual outfit of a grey and white striped jersey skirt, an embroided white top and a denim vest.  I dressed the jewelry in a casual way for the pictures.  Unfortunately, it didn't occur to me until right now to include dressy photos as well.  You can totally wear this set dressy and I have the perfect tee styled LBD to wear it with!  (I was playing with a picture editing program on my phone on the right hand picture below - ten years younger!!).

Turquoise is the perfect accent to my pink and purple hair, don't you think???

Before I sign off, I want to introduce you to the giveaway.  Be sure to let the Rafflecopter widget load so that you can enter.  I have been given two gift cards for two lucky winners to receive $10 off each on Majestical.com.

There are so many more beautiful items of jewelry on Majestic.com, you just have to go look and prepare your wish list.  You can find all the links to their social media accounts in the Rafflecopter giveaway widget or on Majestical Jewelry's website.

Now, before I go, don't you think my husband needs to take pictures with reader glasses? Things seemed a little blurry? (I'm really half this size, lol!)

(Jewelry and gift cards for giveaway both provided by Majestical Jewelry.  All opinions are strictly my own honest evaluation.)

A Moose Video. Listen With Volume

I made a video but you have to listen with the volume.  It cracks me up.

What didn't crack me up was when my neighbor got in her car and chased the moose up and down the road honking at it.
