The Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, Swatches, Review, and Palette of the Season!!

2014 brought a rise in palettization. We moved from the idea of single shadows we arrange ourselves into the full on glory of beautiful palettes created for our enjoyment. 2015 starts with what could very well be the Palette Of The Year...the Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette Amazonian Clay palette, ($44). Behold the splendor.

I first spotted this eyeshadow palette at Sephora while out one day.  I tested it and when I put my finger in the shadow and felt the silkiness, I knew this would very well be in heavy competition for Palette Of The Year despite the year having just begun!  The shadows are soft like butter and the color payoff of each and every shade is amazing!  The pleasing balance of plums, warm browns and cool browns just makes it an all around killer matte palette.

This is a beauty.  A true princess and has no angle where it isn't completely photogenic.

swatches, Sephora, 2015

The Tartelette palette consists of twelve matte eyeshadows in three rows of four across.  If you pair the shades in the horizontal rows, you'll see that the four match together well.  The top row is a warm brown set with a warm beige, a coffee with cream shade, a pure milk chocolate, and a warm burnt umber.  The shade names of the first row, from left to right are:
Free Spirit, Force Of Nature, Dreamer and Multi-Tasker.

The middle row consists of some beautiful plums.  You have Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend and Bombshell.  The second row across moves through the plum spectrum from a light matte pale pink to a deep plum.

The bottom row consists of a cool brown toned family, beginning with a cool beige, a burnt sienna, a taupey brown and a soft black.  The names are Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player and Fashionista.

review

I swatched these with my fingertips the first time.  Usually, I use sponge tip applicators.  I have deeply grooved fingerprints, which grab a LOT of shadow, and unfortunately, when I swatch, it then looks spotty.  WHICH THEY ARE NOT.  My fingertips just hold in the color.

Here are two swatches done with sponge brushes:

My gosh the pigment is great in these Amazonian clay shadows.  Isn't that an amazing difference between what my finger swatches would have you to believe and the truth of the matter?  And they go on the eye even smoother.  (I don't have an eye look for you yet...but I will!)

I might be the only person who can tell the difference between the two pictures here with the sponge swatching, but I show them because my arm rests slightly differently, and the light hits the arm in a different spot.  Anyway, it's a negligible difference but I feel the need to be diligent!!!

Sephora, swatches, review

This is just such a great palette with all around matte colors.  It can be used alone or is the perfect compliment to virtually every other shadow you probably own.  I've become a total Tarte fiend over the past year because of the excellent quality and value given to the consumer.

You may find this delicious eyeshadow set at Sephora, Ulta, and Tarte.com.  Doesn't the accompanying lipstick look pretty?  Oh yes, it does.  I don't have it but I'm making it my mission in the next couple of weeks to look for it.

Have you had your Tarte today?
