Pixi Beauty Skintreats Peel & Polish - Plus A Giveaway!

Pixi Beauty has been just killing it lately with their skincare products, referred to as Skintreats.  One of the most recent releases to hit the shelves is the Peel & Polish, (1.5 fl oz / $24).  Pixi Beauty is a cruelty free company and their products are sold in their boutiques, Pixi online, and at Target in the states.  The Peel & Polish is one of those rare skincare finds that you know is exceptional from the first use.

I would agree with Pixi's claim that it delivers a professional salon peel at home.  This peel uses natural fruit enzymes  and lactic acid to exfoliate and peel while utilizing sugar to polish.  The result is that the dead outer surface of the skin is lifted and removed revealing softer smoother skin underneath.

You can use this as a peel or as a peel and polish combination.  The instructions say to apply it, let it sit for up to five minutes and wash away.  It can be used 2-3 times a week in the morning or evening.  To receive a more polished effect, when applying, gently rub in circular motions helping to speed the exfoliation, and let the peel sit on the face for a few more minutes.  This is how I use it with my dry skin.  The result, when I wash it off, is a clearer radiant complexion and softer smoother skin.  I've very impressed with this product.  It's suitable for all skin types so I think you might like it as well.

Here are the ingredients:
Water/Aqua/Eau, Lactic Acid, Polylactic Acid, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Ceteareth-20, Beraclay Light Red, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polyglceryl-3 Cocoate, Butylene Glycol, Maltooligosyl Glucoside, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dipentaerythrityl Tri-Polyhydroxystearate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Polyglceryl-4 Caprate, Polyglceryl-6 Caprylate, Polyglceryl-6 Ricinoleate, Pentylene Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Benzoic Acid, Tocopherol.

Learn more about the Pixi by following their blog and across their social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and youtube.

The good folks at Pixi Beauty sent me an extra to giveaway to one lucky entrant.  The winner will be chosen at random at the end of the giveaway.  I'll contact the winner via email and they have 24 hours to respond with shipping info.  Please make sure to enter with an email address that you check regularly.   Have fun everyone and good luck to you!

JessXIttse - The Love For Lacquer And Ittse Glambition Collection Collaboration

During Cosmoprof North America in summer of '16, the Polarbelle team had the fortune of a sit down with Gretchen Chevalier, the founder and CEO of Ittse, an up and coming cosmetic brand.  We were captivated by their booth and, in particular, the cartoon style line drawings of the muse Ittse and her dog Bernard.

Glambition Collection, Love For Lacquer, JessXIttse

The style of the products, packaging and booth really spoke to us.  We went by Ittse about six times before we could get in through the crowd to sit down and learn more about the brand.

Gretchen created this delightful cruelty free brand with a modern look.  She has a background in the development of prestige brand products and was able to bring her expertise and knowledge of product development, formulation and USA based manufacturing to her brand Ittse.  Her vision was to bring an approachable option to consumers, even in the packaging, and to appeal to all demographics.

There is attention to absolutely every detail in this brand.  My first picture above is of the customize-able empty palette that you can purchase in a variety of six colors.  Look at the detail on the back of the box.  It's so cool, appealing to my artistic side.

Ittse has a special place in the brand for influencers, which brings me to today's product review.  My friend Jess Scull is the brilliant blogger behind Love For Lacquer.  She has made her brand into an incredible force in the industry and I'm so proud and excited that she would collaborate with Ittse to bring you The Glambition Collection.

Glambition Collection, Love For Lacquer, JessXIttse

From the Ittse website:
This collection represents all of the powerful and strong women who are building empires, chasing dreams (in high heels of course) and who rise, shine and hustle. Through every failure, you will always have a reason to get back up. Dream big, work hard, stay focused & make it happen.”
xo,
Jess,
@loveforlacquer | loveforlacquer.com

The collection features four products; a cheek color, 2 highlighters and one all over color.  The four colors are sold as a set for $35.  If you choose to purchase an Ittse palette in your choice of color, the cost is $50.  Sign up on the website for the first time and receive a 20% off coupon!!  You'll be very impressed with the empty palettes.  They're made of faux leather, super cushy and have a mirrored top.  Now let's take a look.

highlighter, blush, girl boss

These powders are gorgeous.  Your brush will kick up a tiny bit of powder when you swipe the pan but will apply perfectly when you touch the face.  There's no fallout.  These colors are beautiful in their intended use and also as eye colors.

They are, (from left to right) - Hustle & Glow, a golden shimmering highlighter.  It's not an overtly warm gold, which means I really love it.  Golds that go too orange just don't work for me.

Goal Digger - a delicious shimmer that I can't quite explain...it's kind of a champagne peach or a champagne pink depending on your undertones.  It is an all over color that is brilliant as a highlighter, gorgeous as a blush topper and a gleaming metallic on the eyes.  This is the color I was dying for most and it totally delivers.

Run The World - a beautiful champagne glowing highlighter.  Mix this with any of the other colors and you will blow your mind!

#GirlBoss - the cheek color of the bunch is the perfect light color with barely discernible shimmer.  The satin finish keeps it from looking flat and I truly believe it's a universal color.  It is perfectly between peach and pink making it the every day blush you've been looking for.

Pictured below, they are:  #Girl Boss, Hustle & Glow, Goal Digger, Run The World.

highlighter, blush, girl boss

I've snapchatted wearing these colors and received tremendous response.  My snap fam is as enamored as I am!!

Congratulations to Jess on her collab and congratulations to Ittse for picking my girl boss hero to collab with.  You can follow Jess on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter.    Keep tabs on Ittse on Facebook, InstagramPinterest and Twitter.

Don't you think this collaboration would be a perfect gift for your favorite #GirlBoss?

BioSilk's 1st Professional Hair Tools - My Review & Why You Need To See Them

Two hair tools I've been loving currently are from BioSilk.  They combine ceramic and titanium hair tool technologies to produce lightweight, efficient, frizz defeating salon quality tools.  I have the blow dryer, ($79),  and flat iron, ($79), and I really want to tell you about both because they are really awesome tools.  They are a bargain for the quality and efficiency of the tools.

The Titanium Professional Blow Dryer is a sexy chrome and silver and is lightweight to hold.  Titanium technology allows the dryer to dry hair quicker than average while it seals the cuticle shaft for smoother shinier hair.  It dries my hair much faster than any traditional shaped blow dryer.  I love to use this thing.  For me, one of the best things about it is the reduced noise level!!  It doesn't sound like a whirring jet engine, even on the high setting.  It makes it a relaxing dryer to use.

Some of the details include:
1875 watts of powerful airflow
Titanium Grill

2 speed settings
2 temperature settings
A cool shot button

Ion generator
2 year limited warranty
Includes Free 2 oz. Biosilk Hot Thermal Protectant Mist, directional airflow nozzle, and diffuser attachement

It's a sturdy yet lightweight machine that delivers powerful and comparatively quiet  drying while adding sleekness and shine to the hair.  I really enjoy using this dryer.

The Titanium 1" Flat Iron is also a really terrific tool.  It is sleek and looks a little bit space age with it's high quality titanium mirrored plates, the LED temperature guide and flashing blue lights when it's on.  The plates are curved at the side making it easy to curl hair without catching and pulling it.  The titanium technology seals the cuticle to keep humidity out while making for incredible shine.

Some points of interest about this flat iron:
1 Inch Titanium Plates
Max temperatures of up to 410ºF
LED Digital Temperature Display
1 hour auto shut-off
2 year limited warranty
Includes Free 2 oz. Biosilk Hot Thermal Protectant Mist

You turn on the iron and set the temperature with the three buttons that are on the side.  It's easy to punch it up higher or lower and the iron can heat to the full setting in under a minute.  That surprised me.  It makes styling even quicker.  The ease with which it straightens or curls without catching and pulling was something that I really appreciate.  It's fast and efficient and I love it so much that I put my GHD away.  I don't think you could possibly find a better flat iron at such a price.  I really think you need to consider these with your next hair tool purchase.

You can follow BioSilk on Instagram to learn more about the brand.

I am just loving these tools so much and I love the sleek fancy look of them.  Do you have a particular hair tool that delivers for you that you love?  Have you curled your hair with a flat iron?  I could never do it until I got this one!

Madam CJ Walker Beauty Culture Wonderful Pre-Wash Protein Treatment Hair Mask Review & Giveaway!

Affiliate Link
haircare, giveaway

Today I'm sharing my experience with the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Wonderful Pre-Wash Protein Treatment, (now available at Sephora - 6 oz / $32), with you.  And I have an extra for a giveaway!!

The Pre-Wash Protein Treatment is a hair mask that is used prior to shampooing.  Use a fair amount and distribute thoroughly throughout hair and on the scalp and then relax for 20 minutes.  This thick creamy mask has a pleasing relaxing scent.  It smells sort of like vanilla and lightly floral.   The formula is said to penetrate deeply to restore and rebuild dry, brittle strands which are damaged by chemicals, heat and the environment.   There are no parabens, sulfates or phthalates and it is is suitable for all hair types.

My experience with this hair mask has been nothing short of amazing!!  I have chemically colored and treated hair which can get dry in the heat and sunshine here in Phoenix.  The natural texture of my hair is coarse and curly.  Let me emphasize:  Coarse and curly.  I don't have typical movie hair that you would love to run your hands through.  There's a lot of texture.  When I use this mask, my hair is SO SOFT!  It's amazing!!!  I wish my website had feel-o-vision so that you could experience the difference when I pre-treat with this product before shampooing.

The other thing I love about this is that while it penetrates well, it doesn't lift the artificial color from my hair.  My pinks, purples and blues remain just as vibrant while becoming softer with use.  My colored coarse hair transforms into a mermaid's dream with the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Wonderful Pre-Wash Protein Treatment.  It really IS wonderful.  And it smells great.  Plus, who could complain about that 20 minutes to check your email and Instagram, fix dinner, or whatever it is that you like to do while your hair is treated.

So good news!!!  Not only is this hair mask nothing short of amazing, but I have one to giveaway to a lucky reader!!  I love this mask and I think you will too.  Please enter using the widget below.

Emma Slater Of Dancing With The Stars Changes Partners

When I first heard that Emma Slater changed partners before the season even started at Dancing With The Stars, I thought there was some big ol' hubba-baloo backstage and naturally, I wanted to find out about it.  But never fear, all was well behind the scenes as Ms. Slater had become the spokesperson for the Dancing With The Stars Self Tanning Collection of products by Norvell.

"I am delighted to announce I have a new partner - Dancing with the Stars Self Tanner by Norvell with Vio-7™," mused Slater.  She continues, "As a professional dancer, who wears skin baring costumes, I have tried it all - and I sadly, have been every color under the sun including the dreaded orange! Dancing with the Stars Self Tanner with Vio-7 is distinctly different."

Formulated using the same color theory principles seen in purple shampoo to neutralize brassiness, Dancing with the Stars Self Tanner with Vio-7 utilizes a unique blend of violet and brown tone bronzer pigments designed to counter an unwanted orange undertone when sunless tanning.

"Vio-7™ is not only innovative, but I consider it my insurance when prepping each week for the scrutiny of HDTV" Slater remarks. "The Dancing with the Stars name is synonymous with a coveted tan and Norvell is known as the #1 professional self tanner. Two champions have come together to create the best self - tanning product ever. Now, you can have this same tan too!"

The Norvell blending mitt makes application smooth and easy.  It has a velvety outside with a waterproof liner on the inside.  There is no bleeding of color onto the palms as you smooth it over the body.  Just dampen a little, apply your product to it and go to work blending.  It really makes application easy, even and not the least bit streaky.

The first of the three tanners that I used is the self tanning mousse.   The mousse glides easily over the face and body with a light bronze color as a guide.  I found this easy to use and very hard to mess up.  The bronze color appears immediately and within 24 hours, the tan begins to develop.  The bronze guide washes away in the first couple of showers and the tan lasts nearly a week.

As it wore off, I had no flaking or spotting.  If you've used self tanners before, you know that is really unusual.  I can usually feel and see them wearing off as they get spotty and then I exfoliate like crazy.  I never felt the need to do so with these products because it looked so natural as it wore.  My skin didn't have the chemical feel or dryness that a lot of tanners have, nor did it smell like most.  These products have a delicious chocolate vanilla scent and never smell odd.  I really enjoy this formula and the results.

Before I used it, I looked like this:

With just one simple application, I looked like this the next day:

I found it really easy to apply around the areas that can get to dark if you're not careful.  I just followed the instructions of exfoliating 24 hours before, and using the mitt lightly damp.  I moisturized before and paid extra attention to knees, ankles, wrists and fingers.  I was really pleased with the results and was ready for shorts season!!

The next week, I added a layer of the Airbrush Spray.  I was going to do this in the tub which makes it easy to rinse off any overspray, but it was a beautiful day so I chose to do it outside.  I did mess up just a tad.  I forgot to moisturize my feet so it was a little dark on a couple of toes, but gosh, just so not a big deal.  I found I had to pay a lot more attention to how and where I sprayed in order to get evenness.  I prefer the mousse application, but that's just my preference.  Always keep in mind, if you're spraying your legs, that some mist will fall to your feet and be sure to calculate that in when you decide how much to spray about the ankles and feet.

The third formula is the Endurance Color Boosting Skin Perfector.  This is an illuminating body balm that will extend the wear of your tan while said to firm, tone, brighten and moisturize the skin.  I haven't been able to use this consistently enough at this time of year to confirm those results - I'm in Phoenix where it has been summer already for a month and I am trying not to be too dark, just healthy.  The sun has been doing it's natural thing so I'll be using this more as we go into the fall.

I have loved using these products, which just happen to be the best self-tanning products I've used thus far.  They are paraben-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, vegan, synthetic fragrance free and GMO-free.  You can purchase the products on HSN and Amazon, as the professional products are now available for public consumption.  Visit the Official Dancing With The Stars Self Tanner webpage for purchase or to learn more about Emma Slater, DWTS and the Norvell Self Tanners.  Follow them on Twitter and Instagram to keep up-to-date on the latest.

Have you tried a self tanner that you loved before?  Does it help you to go from jeans to shorts season with confidence?

What's New In Multi-Misting From Pixi Beauty Skintreats

Pixi Beauty has been just killing it in the skincare department over the past couple of years.  My honest opinion is that the nickname Skintreats was given to the carefully curated cruelty-free beauty products in Pixi's skincare line for good reason!  I want to tell you today about the beauty mists that are new to Pixi and definitely seem to be a treat to use.   The mists are 2.7 fl oz each and retail for $15 per mist.  Each may be used separately or together in a layering fashion to achieve maximum results. There are five mists total and I have four of them for you today.  If you prefer to watch youtube, I have a recent video where I reviewed the mists and showed how to use them.   You'll find that clip beginning at about 9:47.

The first product in the group is the Vitamin Wakeup Mist.  It is a vitamin boosting toner which is said to give a revitalized awakened effect to the complexion.  You can use it day or night but it should be the first thing after cleansing.  I use it in the morning as the first part of my routine.  The Vitamin Wakeup Mist has an orange blossom water base and contains other citric extracts, lavender, and arginine, (a skin healing and collagen promoting amino acid), among so many other good things that you can read on this ingredient list.

The spritz feels wonderful on my face and gives me a healthy hydrated look.  Vitamin C makes my skin glow while protecting it from environmental assaults.  The scent is both comforting and invigorating to me.  How I feel about the look of my skin using it combined with the energizing scent helps me to feel confident to face the day.  This is my very favorite of the mists.

Next in the lineup is the Hydrating Milky Mist.  It provides instant hydration using hyaluronic acid to plump skin by trapping the moisture in a protective layer.  The ingredients include black oat, multiple B vitamins, and linoleic acid.  The full paraben free ingredient list can be found here.

You can use the Hydrating Milky Mist throughout your day and evening to give instant hydration.  I use this about 30 seconds after I use the Vitamin Wakeup Mist.  They both absorb quickly and I am really happy with the results.  This spray is my second favorite and it's a close second to the first one.

If you're a Pixi fan, you might already be familiar with the Pixi Glow Mist.  Here is what I said about it in 2015 when it was released:  "Pixi Glow Mist is a great addition to the line.  It contains 13 different oils in addition to propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts.!!  It is literally loaded with great things.  And it has a clean fresh scent which I really like while absorbing quickly.  I have really dry skin so this works very well for me.  Use it before makeup to hydrate, protect and nourish your skin.  Use it after makeup to set it and provide a natural glow while protecting your skin and makeup application.  Use it anytime to feel refreshed or to add a glow.  The bottle is travel sized at under 3 fl ounces so take it on an airplace with you to remain hydrated and look fresh when you touch down.  Be sure to shake this a little before using to mix all the oils."

I don't use this as often as I used to.  I feel like my skin already looks so incredibly healthy from the first two sprays that I don't feel a need to add much more.  Also, I test a lot of skincare products, including facial oils, so I had to shelve this one for a bit.  However, I do use it regularly on my body to maintain glow and hydration.

The fourth Skintreats spray that I have is the Makeup Fixing Mist.  This mist is designed to be used after makeup to keep it set in place and prevent creasing, melting and moving.  You can spritz it on a brush to add intensity when using a powder product such as an eyeshadow or highlighter that you want to pop.  It contains green tea, rose water and these other fine ingredients.

When I first used the Makeup Fixing Mist, it became my favorite makeup setting spray.  It does what it claims and it felt like a skin treat on application.  It is hydrating, lightweight and smells fresh..

I really truly look forward to using the mists each day.  I'm hoping to pick up the Sun Mist soon and add that to my multi-misting routine for skin protection.  I find these mists to be excellent in performance and am so glad they were added to the Pixi Skintreats family.  My skin is looking brighter, healthier, more hydrated and has a smoother surface than before they arrived at my house.

Pixi by Petra Beauty products can be purchased in Pixi boutiques, Pixi online, and both instore and online at Target.  You can keep up with Pixi by following their blog, and on their social media channels:  Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and youTube.

Have you tried any of the mists?  What do you use to achieve a healthy glow?

New Color Correction Options From Hard Candy Plus Giveaway!

Do you have redness or sallowness of the skin that your foundation doesn't quite cover?  Do your deep under eyes shine with color despite your concealer?  Color correcting products go quite a long way to even out those areas that we feel are flaws.  When combined with a makeup base, they can even skin tones and hide a multitude of unpleasant hues.  No company has a wider variety of color correcting products than Hard Candy, (sold at Walmart).  I have a few to show you today and at the end of the post, we have a giveaway for 5 people to each win the four items I am showing in this post.

Hard Candy has provided a full range of correcting colors as well as a variety of delivery systems.  There are creams, drops, brush-ons, palettes and sticks.

Hard Candy has a scale of colors for the following benefits:

Green - Neutralizes redness from rosacea, acne, uneven pigmentation and sunburn.
Yellow - Neutralizes and brightens mild skin redness.
Pink - Neutralizes dullness and sallowness in fair to light skintones.
Lavender - Neutralizes dullness and sallowness in medium to dark skintones.
Peach - Neutralizes dark circles and spots in fair to light skintones.
Orange - Neutralizes dark circles and spots in medium to dark skintones.

The first two I want to show you today are two of the Color Correct Expert Sticks, ($5).  These are creamy jumbo style pastel stick concealers.  They are soft retractable pencils so that you never need to sharpen them.   I have the yellow and the lavender.  These are easy to work with and precise in application.   I often use the yellow to brighten my undereye area.

The Color Correct Cushion Wonder, ($6), is my favorite of the items I received for testing.  The color correcting serum is squeezed out of the tube onto a cushion tip.  I use this just about every day in Peach to color correct before I apply concealer.  The applicator has a twist on and off.  Once in the on position, you can squeeze the product into the cushion.

The first time I used it, I squeezed a little hard and scared myself with how much had come out.

It blends really beautifully with it's lightweight formula.  I was quite surprised at how easily it blends.  Sorry for the poor quality, but I took these pictures on Snapchat of my first use and then saved them from Snap.

I blended it up onto my naturally red eyelids, too, and it worked for them as well.  After color correcting, I'd be free to apply my concealer, foundation and the rest of my makeup.  I often just powder this color correcter and put on foundation.  I don't really need to put a concealer on top because it matches my skintone so well.

The fourth product I received is this Color Correct Expert Creme Wand, ($5), in the color orange.  The wand has a brush tip applicator that is easy to get into all those contours, even to the inner eye.  It has a bling-y handle which makes it uber cool.

I will often use the orange and blend it out on my under eye circles.  For me, this acts to cancel the color under my eyes and needs to be followed up with a skin toned concealer.

I have swatches on my arm of each product and below the swatches, I have them blended a little so that you can get an idea of what they might look like in use.

The Hard Candy color correcting items that I have in my possession are really good products.  It's almost hard to believe that you can purchase such nice products for so little cash.  They're definitely worth checking out.  Because I have such dry skin, both liquid products are the ones that I personally prefer.

You can purchase Hard Candy products at Walmart.  Visit them on their website and follow on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.  They are on Snapchat as HeresHardCandy.

For the giveaway:  Five people will be chosen at random to each receive the items I have featured.  Once I have contacted the winners, when they respond with their addresses, the items will be shipped from Hard Candy to the winners.  Just enter to win via the gadget below.  The competition ends at 11:59 pm on June 6th, 2017.

Now At Ulta Beauty - Models Own Cosmetics - Review and Swatches

There's a new video on my youtube channel which contains information about my Becca Cosmetics X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette Giveaway, Models Own makeup, Pixi Beauty Misting Sprays, Becca Bronzers, Stila Cosmetics and more.  There are pictures and swatches, if you want to watch.  If youtube isn't your thing, read on below and let's talk a little about the brand Models Own, a UK cosmetics company now being sold at Ulta Beauty....and it's even on sale this week!!  Models Own is a cruelty free company with many vegan options.

I was super excited to see Models Own in Ulta.  I have a couple of their nail polishes that I bought years ago that are in my stash but I honestly had no idea they had makeup!  Today I'm going to show you the highlighter and two liquid lipsticks that I was sent as well as two eyeshadow palettes that I purchased to check out the brand.

In the above mentioned video, as well as my The Beachwaver video, I am wearing both Lix Matte Liquid Lipsticks that I received.  I'm using them as an ombre' type of lip with Coral Fresh on the inner lip and Berry Cool as the main lip color.  These are normally priced at $7.99 but are on sale at Ulta for $5.99.

I love to wear them both together as an ombre' but I have also worn them individually.  One thing that I particularly like about Coral Fresh is that it's a really wearable coral for me.  Sometimes coral can look too bright, too neon, or too garish on me, but this is a great color.  Berry Fresh is a color that will work for everyone and a good way to ease into a darker color or a red.

The wear of the Lix Matte Liquid Lipsticks for me has been really good.  I drink a lot of water day and night, (ok Diet Coke too!), and it doesn't come off when I drink.  There is color drain around the inner lip when I eat.  That will either bother you or it won't.  It doesn't bother me because it wears really well otherwise.  I find them comfortable and an amazing liquid lipstick for the price.  I obviously want to try more colors.  At this time, there are only six colors at Ulta, and I'm really hoping for a good nude pink to pop up in the future.  There are eight colors on Models Own website, which does ship worldwide.

If you follow me on social media, you know where I'm going next...Models Own Sculpt & Glow Highlighting Powder, (.5 oz).  The color I have is Golden Sand.  This is normally priced at $11.99 and is now on sale at Ulta for $8.99.  It's HUGE.

Guys.....guys....we just have to have a chat about this!!  This is an incredible highlighter!  Oh my gosh, like hidden gem in Ulta!  Go get both.  Now!  Seriously so pretty.  It shows a lightly pink champagne on me, which is my favorite highlighting tone.

I have more swatches in my video.  You might want to check them out.  This highlighter can apply lightly for a glow, or layered for a GLOOOW.  It lasts until you take it off.  The staying power is unreal.  It's so beautiful, doesn't have any glitter, and gives a stunning sheen.  I can say with confidence that this highlighter will definitely be in my Best Highlighters of 2017 video.  The best buying advice I've ever given you is to get this highlighter.

The first eyeshadow palette I'll show you is Vintage Rose. I bought these palettes at the full retail price of $17.99 but they're now on sale for $13.49 for a .24 oz palette.  I was wearing it in the video at the top of this post.  I think the packaging is pretty and gives you a good idea of what the palettes will be like.

I've just worn this once so far so I can't give you a full review but I do want to show you swatches and give you my initial first impressions.  I have some thoughts in the video as well.

The mix of colors is pretty.  I chose this as a supplement to the Too Faced Natural Love eyeshadow palette.  That one is a nice lighter colored palette but for my taste, I have to throw some darker shades in and I think this palette will work well.  The matte shades show up very lightly on my arm but better on the eye.  They also come with a two sided brush, which I show in the video, that I used for my look.   Hmm, a picture of my eye look here would have been good, right?

My second palette is Wonderland, a cool mix of greys and blues.

I haven't worn this yet, but I'm looking forward to it.  I'm really a cool lover and wanted something vastly different from all the warm bronzes, oranges and reds we've seen lately.

This palette is mostly shimmers, which I really like.  The two mattes don't swatch well on my arm, but I can tell the plummy color is going to be a great crease color for me.  I love colors like that in my crease.  I can't comment yet on the wear but I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

So far, my experience with Models Own is really nice.  I look forward to checking out more of their products.  My testing of the highlighter and the liquid lipsticks has been very exciting and positive.

You can find Models Own products at Ulta or on the Models Own website.  Follow them on their social media channels on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

How about you?  Have you seen Models Own in your local Ulta?  Have you tried any yet?

Check Out The Hottest New Cosmetics Brand - Glossier

The buzz has been on everyone's lips..."have you heard about Glossier?  Have you tried anything from them?"  Beauty bloggers are stalking each other's reviews to learn more about this up and coming brand.  I've been fortunate to test a few things and I'd like to give you my thoughts today from the cool package I received from this cruelty free company.

primer, face mask, lips, brows, concealer

The first thing I noticed right away was the wonderful packing of my products.  They came in this cuuuuutttttte pink bubble padded zip top plastic bag that can be used later as a makeup bag or whatever you'd like to use it for.  I know!!  Packing material, but it's so cool!!!  It makes for nice attention to detail.  I also received a cool sheet of Glossier stickers.

Now for the products.  The first item I want to talk about Boy Brow, (.11 oz / $16), which has already received cult like status in the beauty world.  It was a favorite in heavy rotation on the Oscar red carpet this year.

Boy Brow has a 1/4" spoolie wand to dispense product.  This product thickens, fills in and sets brows in place all without a stiffness that some products give.  It comes in blonde, brown, black and clear.  The color that I received is brown.  Key ingredients include beeswax, carnauba wax, oleic acid, lecithin and atelocollegen.

What I really like about this product is that I can wear it alone for a finished brow look or use it as a final step to cover the blonde tips of my brows.  I enjoy using this and I'd love to purchase the clear as well.

Next are the Generation G lip colors, (2 gm / $18).  I hadn't read anything about these so I was really curious to try them, not really knowing what to expect.  They are a thinner tube which fits easily in a pocket, wallet or bag.  I received the colors Like and Crush, (pictured left and right).

The Generation G lip colors are a matte lightweight lip tint, more like a matte lip balm than a lipstick.  I haven't used anything quite like these before.  The light powdery pink of Like doesn't show on my naturally very lightly pigmented lips.  Crush is a nice lightweight berry.  They feel moisturizing while being a very natural look.  Some of the wonderful ingredients are blue agave, safflower oil, and triple coated mica which gives the signature matte look while having a smooth glide.  They are hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, paraben, fragrance and cruelty free.

Swatches are, left to right, Crush and Like.

The last color product I received from Glossier is the Stretch Concealer, (.17 oz / $18).  I have it in medium, a perfect match for my both undereye and on the face.  Key ingredients include beeswax, microcrystalline wax, avocado oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, adaptable mineral pigments.

This concealer is designed to move, (or stretch), with the skin rather than drying down to a cakey overlay.  The nourishing oils also hydrate as you wear it.  For as lightweight as this concealer is, it has surprising coverage.  I do have to set it with powder under the eyes or it will do some minimal migrating.  I'm pretty impressed with it.  I don't know that it will replace what I regularly use but I just love the feel with it and how adapting the pigment is to my skin.

And now we're going to cover the Glossier skincare products that I received.  Glossier is all about a healthy glowing skin.  The products are designed to create a naturally pretty look, which begins with fresh skin.

The first treatment I tried was the Moisturizing Moon Mask, (3 fl oz / $22).  This product is good for all skin types.  It soothes, gently brightens and hydrates the skin.  My skin looks plumped up and smoothed when I use it and feels really hydrated.  You can use this day or night to give your skin the beneath the surface boost that you need.  I really enjoy this.  My skin gets pretty dry here in the desert and I can use all the moisturizing that I can get.  I find this product to be really effective.  I also love the packaging.

Before makeup, I use the Priming Moisturizer, (1.7 fl oz / $25).   One of the most incredible things about this priming moisturizer is that you can layer it to achieve the level of moisturizing that you desire.  It plumps up the skin with hydration and evens out the surface helping to minimize pores.  There are no heavy silicones like in many pore minimizing products.  The anti-redness complex helps to even skin's pigmentation while it gives skin a cushiony surface.  Like the Moon Mask, this is a skincare winner.  And again, the packaging!

I saved my favorite of all the Glossier products that I've used to tell you about last.  It is another skincare product.  Hands down, Balm DotCom, (,5 fl oz / $12),  is the best lip balm I've ever used.  This is an incredible formula in a squeeze tube and just the smallest amount will provide such amazing hydration to your lips that you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.  No joke.

This balm lasts for HOURS on the lips as it works to hydrate and repair them.  It's very dense and when I say you just need a little, I'm talking about 1/4 of a pencil eraser worth or less.  This product will last a very long time.  I have the original but there are also flavored varieties available.  If you only ever purchase one item from Glossier, it should be this balm.  Key ingredients include beeswax, castor seed oil, omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, rice bran and rosemary leaf extracts.

I've really enjoyed my introduction to this brand, especially the skincare.  There are full ingredient lists on the Glossier website.  You can follow them on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

I really feel that the skincare I've tried are destined to achieve cult status right up there with Boy Brow.  How about you?  What have you heard about Glossier?   Have you tried any of the brand yet?
