Osmosis Brow Gel; My Experience & Review

When I first started wearing makeup beyond simply foundation and blush, I used to spend a lot of time at the Mac Counter learning application methods and exploring color options.  As I went for lesson after lesson, I learned that applying a little powder to brows could finish a look.  Like just about everyone who came before and after me, I said "why do I need anything on the brows, look how full they are".  Back then, Mac Cork eyeshadow was the standard for brows.  Fast forward to today and brows have a life of their own!!  This is the age of insta-brows.  A good brow can make your look and a bad brow can get you unfollowed on social media,  Brows are everything now and require a product that stays put, applies well, isn't patchy and will order your favorite coffee for you.

Recently, I was offered Osmosis Brow Gel, (4gm / $25), to try.  They have adorable and clever packaging.  They make me think of the Keebler Elves little house.  I don't know why but they do.

The packaging is simply brilliant.  The top comes off the lid where you see the line in the middle.  Inside is a tiny brow brush.  It's the smallest brush I've every used, measuring at around 1/8" in width.

Flip the brush upside down and it fits perfectly on top of the lid, giving you a comfortable brush to hold to paint those tiny little brow hairs.  This small brush enables you to precisely draw the brows that you want.

I received two colors; Brown and Taupe, pictured above at left and right.  When I had surgery several months ago, it was difficult on my body and I lost most of my brow hairs.  I started drawing in the tails at that time and found out two really important brow details.  First, not all brow makeup will draw on skin that doesn't have hair and second, some brow products will migrate and melt on the skin.

Osmosis Brow Gel does neither of those nasty things.  It fulfills my two brow requirements.  I prefer a product to be easy to draw a brow with and my top priority is that I can put it where I want and it will stay.  This gel doesn't melt in the Phoenix heat.  I'm so thankful!!!  I was using a couple of high end brow products prior to this that just ended up all over my brow bone but not where it should have been.

I've been using the brown to draw in my brow tail and general shape and I use the taupe to fill in.  Sometimes I use all brown or all taupe.  I can wear each color equally well as my brows are a mix of blonde, dark brown and a few white hairs.  The members of my family each have their preferences for my brows, so I accomodate depending on who I'm with and how I want my overall look that day.

In the following picture, you'll see brown at the top and taupe at the bottom.

It seems that every time I review an Osmosis product, I tell you that it's fabulous and performs unlike anything else I've used in its particular category.  I don't want to sound like I'm repeating a mantra, but honestly, this is the best brow gel I've ever used.  Osmosis makes outstanding products, in my experience, and this brow gel is no exception.  I can draw my brow tail down to my chin if I want and it won't move or smudge.  It won't melt and looks great all day.  It is water resistant and I seriously couldn't be more impressed with it.

I love the packaging.  I love the tiny little precise brush that lets me achieve whatever look I want to on any given day.  I find this easy to use and long lasting.  And really, in a brow product, that's exactly what I need.  You want to put a brow on and forget about it for the rest of the day.  I've been excited to find my holy grail brow product!

Osmosis is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified company.  The brow gel is gluten free and oncology friendly.  I always suggest that you subscribe to their blog.  I've learned SO much from receiving those emails in my inbox.   You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

Do you have a favorite non-melting brow product?  Can you believe brows are having such a makeup moment??

ARTIS BRUSH SALE ON HSN.COM TODAY

If you've read my blog awhile, or viewed my social media channels, you might remember me referring to Artis Brushes.  Artis set the makeup brush industry upside down with the uniquely formed and hand cut makeup brushes, which many other brand tries to copy.  Created by former MAC Cosmetics senior executive Matthew Waitesmith, these patented designer brushes are ergonomic, unique, funtional, performance driven and cruelty free.  People ask me often if other knock off brands are the same.  It's pretty simple...umm, no...not that I've tried every knock off but the ones that I have just haven't measured up to the quality of Artis.

Today, April 6th, on HSN, (Home Shopping Network), and HSN.COM, you will find Artis featured four times throughout the day on tv, (and all day online).  I think you'll enjoy the offerings.  I've got a youtube video that I'm currently working on that will talk a lot more about the performance and maintenance of the Artis and the Brushcraft by Artis products.  Look for that in the next couple of weeks.  Here's something that will be on HSN:

This is the Artis Double Palm brush set, mirrored finish.  Today it's on sale for $90, (reg. $110),  with free shipping.  If I had this brush, I'd use one in one hand bronzing up my bod and the other in the other hand highlighting the angles and curves of same bod.  It's definitely time to add some shimmer, contouring and highlight to arms and legs here in Phoenix.  And I could do it so much quicker with both palms gliding at the same time.  You can also purchase this superb brush as a single, on sale for $50, which is $15 off it's usual price.

There are introductory brush sets, cleaning items and even a spectacular set containing all the Artis line.  Check it out today on HSN, watch the shows and see how to use the brushes while gathering more knowledge about how they're made and what sets them apart.

If you miss the show, check out my previous Artis post or stop by the Artis Brush website to learn more.  They are the most exciting brushes you'll ever own.

What about you?  Have you dipped your palm into the Artis Brush pond yet?

The Sexiest Red Nail Polish Ever - Julie G Sunset Kiss Nail Polish!! Swatches & Review

Half of my review is in the title. I found the Julie G nail polish in Sunset Kiss, (10 ml/$3.99) to be the sexiest nail polish I've worn. It's a brilliant slightly cool toned red with tons of cherry and red shimmers in it that give a three dimensional depth on the nails. It's almost got a hidden holographic effect as the glimmers flash golden like the sunset at the corners of the fingernail.

My camera has trouble splitting the difference between skintone and the brilliant shimmer within quality of the polish.  Look at the left edge of the bottle.  Do you see how the glimmers look orangey at different angles?  They're cherry straight on and orange toned at the angle.

Jesse's Girl Cosmetics

There is so much drama put into this one classy red polish.  How can they do it at such a great price?

Here is a picture in regular home lighting.

Jesse's Girl Cosmetics

Right?  RIGHT?!?!  A sexy red, cherry and orange.  Such an awesome polish.  Pay no attention to me spelling my own name wrong in the font.  lol    I used Julie G Jet Set Quick Dry Top Coat to finish my polish.  It is definitely a quick dry shiny top coat that doesn't shrink at the tips or elsewhere.  Two manicured thumbs up from me.  The Julie G division of Jesse's Girl Cosmetics also offers a Gel Effect and a Matte top coat.  I'd like to get both of those.

I'm very impressed with Julie G polishes.  These were given to me as a gift but it's my honest opinion that the brand is one of the top in the polish market.  They apply smoothly and wear brilliantly.  I don't have any chips, flaking or application trouble with them.

Julie G and Jesse's Girl Cosmetics can be purchased on the Jesse's Girl Website, in store at Rite Aid, and on Amazon.com.
Be sure to follow them on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and now on Snapchat as well.

If you'd like to read more about Jesse's Girl Cosmetics, Julie G or read more about my meeting with her when I attended Cosmoprof North America one year, you can check that out here.

Tarte Cosmetics Make Believe In Yourself Magic Wand Unicorn Makeup Brushes Plus Sephora Haul

Right???  RIGHT??!!??!  Unicorn brushes!!!  From Tarte!  I love Tarte's brushes on the daily anyway and being a total brush fiend, I needed to have the newly released unicorn handled colorful makeup brushes.  And just LOOK at that tissue they were wrapped with inside the box!?!?!  My hair is devastated because it's no longer the most unique little unicorn in my house!

So I made a video right away and included the other items that I purchased from Sephora.  There are a couple items I'm not sure about but neither the brush set or the lip paint will ever leave my stash.  Please like and comment on youtube, or on here, if you like.

What's the most unicorn-y item you own?  The most unicorn-y in your beauty stash?  I'd love to hear about it!

The Pixi Beauty Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse Collaboration Review #PixiPretties

Many, many squeals of excitement erupted from me when I received my Pixi Pretties package with four collaborations that Pixi Beauty created with beauty influencers.  It was a huge box the size of a suitcase.

The box is so big, there was nowhere in my home with adequate lighting to take pictures.  The Pixi Pretties collaboration contains four unique sets of creations which are found when I open the delicious box.

Each collab will be featured either here on my blog, on my youtube channel, or both.

It's Judy Time created full eye and lip kits.

Aspyn Ovard worked with Petra, Pixi Beauty brand creator and owner, to formulate three glow-y cheek powders and a kit containing a lower lash mascara and brow gel.

Maryam Maquillage, one of the nicest youtubers on the planet, created 2 face palettes and a superb double ended brush to go with them.

And now we come to collaborator, blogger and youtube beauty guru Caroline Hirons.  With Pixi Beauty, Caroline created the genius Double Cleanse, (3.36 oz, $24).

skincare

If you watch or read her channel, you'll recognize that Caroline is nothing short of brilliant.  She's intelligent and knowledgeable and a true treasure trove of information about everything beauty.  She has completely earned her unofficial title of skincare guru.  Ms. Hirons has long been an advocate of double cleansing and it's just appropriate that the Double Cleanse is her Pixi baby.

skincare

What is double cleansing?  It's the idea which comes to us initially from K skincare practices of cleansing by removing makeup and daily grime first with an oil or balm.  After the oil or balm is rinsed off,  a nourishing moisturizing cream is used to remove the balm remnants and any leftover  oiliness or film and complete the cleansing of the skin.  You face will never be cleaner than with a double cleansing system.

Can you just use the oil to take off your makeup?  Sure, but if you've done that, you'll recognize the need to cleanse the balm remnants from the face and the cleansing cream does just that.  Afterward, your skin feels nourished rather than stripped and is completely clear of all makeup.  You'll see that the brilliance of the packaging makes this really easy to do, with the cleansing balm on one side and the cleansing cream on the other.  Plus, there is an inner lid to keep everything nice, pretty and seperate.

skincare, Pixi + Caroline Hirons

Pixi + Caroline Hirons, skincare

For me, this is the perfect product delivery.  I've only double cleansed about 1/3rd of the time prior to receiving this package.  It was one more step and one more product that I had to get out so I often would hurry through my cleansing steps.  And leaving two different cleansers on the vanity to be able to double cleanse took up a lot of room.  This product makes my life easier, having both forms of cleansing available with the simple lifting of just one lid.

It's a big jar so it will last awhile.  It is bigger than the palm of my big ol' hand.

Pixi + Caroline Hirons, skincare

I'm thinking of getting a couple as back ups because I can't imaging what I'll do when it's gone.  I'm really hoping Pixi makes this a permanent item in their skincare products.  My favorites are pictured below, which I've talked about on youtube, Instagram and my snapchat quite a bit.

Pixi + Caroline Hirons, skincare

The Double Cleanse is full of anti-aging ingredients that I'm really excited about and no nasty parabens or fragrances.  Here are the ingredients in both sides of the Double Cleanse:

Solid Cleansing Oil INGREDIENTS: Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG-8 Isostearate, Polyethylene, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylgylcerin, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil. Cleansing Cream INGREDIENTS: Water/Aqua/Eau, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Dipropylene Glycol, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearic Acid, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-40 Stearate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Arginine, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbic Acid, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Maltodextrin, Butylene Glycol, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, sh-Decapeptide-7, sh-Octapeptide-4, sh-Oligopeptide-9. 2 x 50ml / 1.69 fl.oz

I'll say it again that I really hope this item becomes permanent.  Caroline Hirons is a skincare genius and I just love the ease of use of this double cleansing system.  I find it easy to keep each side seperate and my face has never been cleaner.  You can purchase Pixi Beauty items on their website or boutiques and also at Target.   Learn more about the brand by following their blog and across social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and youtube.

Now I'd like to ask if you Double Cleanse.  Which is your favorite item of the Pixi Pretties collaborations?

Charlotte Tilbury Quick 'N Easy Red Carpet Party Look Makeup Set Swatches And Review

There are a couple seasons during the year that are my favorite; Awards Season ranking right up there at the top.  Yes, that time of year when celebs are nominated in all categories for the most coveted of artisan prizes.  There are winners and losers and behind all the flashes of the photogs are the people who create the beauty.  Charlotte Tilbury is the most in-demand makeup artist creating the gorgeous looks of the top A list stars.  Her team provides the most beautiful looks that I see on the carpets year after year.  She created an incredibly beautiful and innovative makeup and skincare line and I am fortunate to feature a Quick 'N Easy 5 Minute Makeup Look Set, (5 pc/$75) for you today.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

The set I was sent is called Red Carpet Party.  The name and the press kit inspired me to do a series on both Snapchat and Instagram Stories that I called Red Carpet Sundays.  Utilizing the makeup set, plus other Charlotte Tilbury items that I already owned, I had a blast getting ready and watching shows with all of you, dishing the stars, the awards and all the beauty.  The PR Kit had a fun clap board to play with, too.  :)

video

The Quick N Easy 5 Minute Makeup Look set Red Carpet Party features a Mini Wonder Glow Instant Soft Focus  Beauty Flash.  This is a multi-use item and can be used under makeup, over foundation, or over Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream for a lasting glow.  The tube is 15 ml in weight and you can think of it as photoshop in a tube.  It smooths, blurs, brightens and gives you a nice glow.  It is an excellent primer to put down before your foundation.  A full sized 40 ml tube is $55.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

The namesake of this set is the Matte Revolution Lipstick in Red Carpet Red. ($34).  This lipstick is a wearable stunner!!  It has 3D glowing pigments which create a luminous finish in a long wearing matte formula providing a lit-from-within look; the makeup look that Charlotte Tilbury is known for.  Both the look and the wear of the lipstick are incredible.  It's a totally wearable red and a comfortable matte formula.  I could never think of enough adjectives to describe this amazing futuristic formula.  You are receiving a full sized lipstick in the glorious rose gold Charlotte Tilbury signature tube.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

Pair the lipstick with the included Kiss N Tell Lip Cheat lip liner, ($22).  These liners are iconic, providing great wear and yet are still comfortable.  Lip Cheats are waterproof, which I can attest to, and provide 6 hours of wear, to which I also concur.  These are the best lip liners I've used.  I have several in my stash.  This is a full sized product.

Line, smudge or smoke your eyes with the included full sized  Rock N Kohl eyeliner in Barbarella Brown, a nice rich nearly black brown, ($22).  It is waterproof and wears incredibly even on my runny allergy eye.  Allergy season is 12 months long in Phoenix, but I've never had any problems with unwanted smudging or disappearances by the Tilbury eyeliners.  They're not dry at all; they apply and blend like a comfortable dream and wear just like your favorite pair of jeans.

In the swatches, the Wonder Glow is pictured to the right, under the star below and above, it is under the line at the top.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

The fifth item is a bronze makeup bag with rose gold lip kisses all over it.  It's gorgeous and holds a whole day's worth of makeup.  It measures about 5.5" x  3" x 2".  The zipper is the gorgeous signature rose gold.  I put everything from my C.T. makeup looks below in the bag and still had room for mascara, a concealer and a powder.

For my Red Carpet Sundays looks, I utilized a lot of products that I own in the Charlotte Tilbury line, along with the Red Carpet Party Look Makeup Set.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

Isn't this the most incredible packaging?  If you saw my Highlighters of 2016 video or blog post, you might know that Charlotte Tilbury's Bar Of Gold was my favorite highlighter of 2016.  It is pictured at bottom left in the picture.  Next to it is the Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation in #3 Fair.  The chocolate bronze circle is the Cheek To Chic blush Sex On Fire.  The retro looking compact at the top is face sculpting bronzer and highlighter duo Filmstar Bronze and Glow.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

This is beautiful makeup even before you put it on.  Using these products, I look airbrushed and photoshopped even without filters.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

It's totes amazeballs.  The whole look made me feel like I was a star who received the best Charlotte Tilburry application in order to walk the carpet.  Even without photoshop, I feel ready to meet Ryan Gosling.  I have a great imaginary life.  In it, I saw Ryan sitting nearby and did my best "hey, girl, HEY!"

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

I wondered, as I sat dressed to the nines, if Beyonce has to worry about the glare on her face from her jewelry.  And then I spy Meryl.  I see you, girl.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

Thank goodness I had practiced my gracious loosing face as my imaginary lead actress role lost to Emma Stone.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

I wouldn't normally post so many pictures of myself on a post, but I had a funny story in my head, so it just had to come out, right?  Just to show you what a photoshopped picture would look like so that you can compare the actual look to actual photoshop, here's a pic I messed with.  I think if you look again at the previous pictures, you can see how truly incredible the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow and Light Wonder foundation make my skin look in my real life.

Red Carpet Red lipstick, Wonder Glow, Rock N Kohl, lip cheat

Oh wait, did I say I lost the award?  No!!  There was an envelope mix-up!!  Here I am after the confusion thanking my fans and the amazing Charlotte Tilbury for my look all throughout awards season.

You can purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Party Makeup Set on her website or at Nordstrom.  Follow on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Google+   As always, Charlotte Tilbury products are paraben free.  So what do you think, Is Red Carpet Party for you?  What is your favorite Charlotte Tilbury item?

Can Osmosis Skincare's Sugar Detox Harmonized Water Help Kick The Sugar Addiction?

I was recently introduced to a section of healthcare supplements from Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare called harmonized water.  What is it?  Well, it's water.   There are several different types, each claming a different purpose, and all are 100% water that have been enhanced with proprietory frequencies in the form of scalar waves.  Scalar waves are said to be a specific kind of energy field that, unless you're a physicist, might not really be of interest to you via a scientific explanation.  Layman's terms are that it's an energy field containing directional vector and wave energies.  The Osmosis Harmonized Waters are affected by different energy fields to achieve a variety of types of effects.  The Harmonized Water I sampled is called Sugar Detox, (100 ml / $30).  My curiosity peaked at the very name.

Here are the claims made by the company:

"All of us are experiencing the effects of aging from Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs). This results from excess sugar in our blood stream attaching to collagen making it tough and aging it before its time which leads to wrinkles. The sugar-protein bonds form these new molecules called AGEs. Over time AGEs become more permanent and affect the ability of our fibroblasts to create collagen. They also produce free radicals increasing the aging process even more.

Osmosis Skincare’s Sugar Detox Harmonized Water is specifically designed to address all aspects of sugar and sweetener overload. This Harmonized Water contains frequencies that help balance the pancreas, improve sugar utilization, detox sweeteneres from the liver, balance nerve damage associated with diabetes, help control sugar levels and reduce the effects of gylcation in the body. With daily use, there is now less sugar available to cause damage and help stop AGE-ing."

Bottom line, sugar ages us faster as it screws up our collagen processing, causing wrinkles and lasting aging damage.  Osmosis suggests that Sugar Detox can help.  I was interested to sample this and had hoped to kick my massive sugar addiction.  I've quit sugar before for decades at a time.  Most recently, when I went back to sugar, the cravings were worse than I'd ever had and were driving forces to my behavior.  The cravings drove me to the candy bowl again and again each day.  It is an addiction and it's a real beast!!

I started to incorporate the Sugar Detox into my day.  I received this right before a major surgery so I wasn't able to try it for a few months.  When I started, I had a hard time working it into my schedule at first.  Finding the right place for the bottle was key.  I rearranged my whole vanity to make this an easier 2x day step for myself.

The instructions are to use 5 squirts in your mouth twice a day, and 7 if you're over 175 lbs.  I began my oral squirting process with a good mix of skepticism and hope.  The attractive bottle and the easy to aim squirting mechanism eased my break into my new routine.

As I do often in testing products, I used it regularly for a bit, took a break, and then started it again to see what differences, if any, I noticed.  Gurrrrrllll!!  It was night and day.  The days I used Sugar Detox, I never had that driving can't-deny-it craving for candy.  And I certainly didn't have that drive 5 times a day...I'm telling you I built up an awful habit.  But with steady use of the Sugar Detox, not only did I feel better, but I didn't have that strong urge to HAVE to eat chocolate all day every day.

I'm telling you this absolutely worked for me.  And I even see a positive difference in my complexion.  The whole idea might sound funky, but this worked for me.  I'm a believer.  And now I'm in that desperate place where I suddently realized I only have a couple days worth left and I'm worried.  I wasn't on it long enough at one time to have totally defeated the beast and I don't want to go without it.  Because it worked for me.  It really really did.

This product isn't evaluated by the FDA for it's claims or even it's efficacy and all I can tell you is my experience.  My personal testimony is it worked for me and it's totally worth taking a $30 risk.  I probably never would have believed it if I hadn't experienced it for myself.

Osmosis is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified company.  I always suggest that you subscribe to their blog.  I've learned SO much from receiving those emails in my inbox.   You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

How about you?  Do you need to kick a brutal sugar habit?  Have you ever tried a supplement like this?

Are Makeup Revolution New-Trals Vs Neutrals & Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Palettes Dupes?

Press Sample

When I received the Makeup Revolution Professional Eyeshadow Palette New-Trals Vs Neutrals, I was struck by what seemed to be a strong similarity in look to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance shadow palette.  I posted a picture on Instagram and got a lot of messages asking how similar it was to the Modern Renaissance.  Was it a dupe?  Let's see.

This palette contains 16 shadows and runs strong in the orange, red and neutral categories.  It has a double sided brush, (which I find useful), inside for application.  Some swatches should help, right?

It has everything...shimmering lights, mediums and dark...matte lights, mediums and dark.  The last shade on the bottom doesn't show correctly for the camera on my arm.  It is a deep plum with red-violet particles.  The only way I could show you it's pretty purpleness was to show you on my eye.  I found it really tough to accurately portray the colors across my arm...one half would be accurate and the other a little less so....but the colors are really a great mix and apply easily.   They last all day for me over concealer on the eye.  I got into a zone for awhile where this palette was all I wanted to wear.  (My flash washed out my look just a little - it was more vibrant in person.)

I had so many questions about the comparison to ABH that I posted some pictures of them together on my Instagram.

You can see that many shades are similar but there are marked differences.  The red toned colors in the Anastasia palette are much cooler and more pink toned.  The New-Trals vs Neutrals palette has warmer tones in the red and oranges, which also all have shimmer whereas the pinks and orange in the ABH are all matte.

Here are swatches of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette.

The Modern Renaissance palette is more powdery but also more pigmented.  It has 14 shades, a two ended brush, and a total of .28 oz. of product for $45.  It doesn't have a very deep shade to finish off the outer eye, if you prefer those to do so.

The Makeup Revolution palette has 16 shades, a total weight of .56 oz. and retails for $12.  It is both a good working alternative to the ABH as well as a good addition to your palette wardrobe if you already have the Anastasia.  I can't see any reason not to have both if you already have the Modern Renaissance, which came out first.   For me, this palette fills a color gap I had and it's very affordable.  It also has the addition of the danged gorgeous purple to bring the darkness you might wish to your eye.  Both companies are cruelty-free.

My suggestion would be to hit up Ulta and check out this palette.  They often have BOGO1/2 sales in this brand as well, plus coupons for money off drugstore items.  I'm really impressed with this brand and am excited to share it with you.  They honestly have something for everyone and their Affirmation is one of my top eyeshadow palettes of 2016.

I want to be sure to tell you that this is a nice stand alone palette.  I did the comparison because I had so many requests, but it doesn't need to be judged against ABH to realize it's value.  It's good in it's own right and makes an excellent addition to any collection.

I'm curious what you think about the similarities and differences and if this would be a good fit for you.  What is your favorite Makeup Revolution item?

Becca Cosmetics Prismatic Amethyst Pressed Shimmering Highlighter, Pics, Swatches and Dupe Comparisons

Have you heard all the buzz this week in makeupland?  It's about the new highlighter that hit the market from Becca Cosmetics.  It is Prismatic Amethyst Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed Powder, ($38 / .25 oz), or as we like to call it, highlighter.  Becca released this as a pre-sale to Sephora VIB members and it will be on sale to everyone at Sephora on Feb. 22nd.

As the name implies, the compact has a gorgeous amethyst colored outer rim and bottom and contains an opalescent amethyst powder with the same gorgeous topagraphy as was issued with the recent Rose Quartz highlighter.  I  have a youtube video with comparisons to many highlighters that I have in my stash and will be inserted below.

Rose quartz, highlighter

Doesn't it look so much cooler in tone than the Rose Quartz?  Take a closer look, but reserve your buying decision for the swatches!

The powder is a lavender with pink and opal iridescence.  On my skin, it shows as the most beautiful pink toned glow.  I'd love to see it on someone with strong yellow tones and see how it looks on them.  This will be stunning on darker skintones.  It is exactly the color I had hoped Rose Quartz to be on my skin.

If you'd like to see more swatches and swatch comparisons to other highlighters, please view the following youtube video.  I'd be thankful for any likes, subscribing or comments you wish to do.

The Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst will be available to the public on February 22, 2017 and is linked right here, with my affiliate.  It is the same great quality that we've come to know and love from Becca.

I'm dying to know what you think of this highlighter.  Will you be purchasing?  I'm thankful to my friend Tracy who encouraged me to get it and was patient with me while I got frustrated with Paypal, lol.  Anyway, I think she's a beauty and I'm dying to know if you have anything else like it.

Jesse's Girl Cosmetics Back Stage Collection Eye Shadow Palettes - Pics, Swatches, and Reviews

Today I am bringing you some eyeshadow palettes from the cruelty-free brand Jesse's Girl Cosmetics.  It's been nearly five years since I met Jesse and Julie G at their booth at Cosmoprof North America.  It's hard to believe it's been that long but what a blast that was.  Jesse is hilarious and Julie G is kind and warm and I just fell in love with her.  When the opportunity came to review the Sounds Of The City and the Natural Nudes Collection eyeshadow palettes, I jumped at the chance to work with them again.  Let's take a look.

The Natural Nudes Collection palette, ($6.99), has ten warm shades ranging from a very light beige to a deep brown.  The idea is that you can easily take this from day to night.  Just pop it in your purse and you're ready to go anytime.  It works from home to office to a night out and is travel friendly.  When I gave a first glance on my social media channels, people were dying to see it swatched and reviewed.  You can see why.

Isn't it pretty?  It weighs 13 grams so it won't add bulk to your carry-on bag or your purse or backpack.  It's got a nice ten pan selection of nudes...and hello, aren't we all just drawn to that amber in the top row?  Yaaaaaaas!!

It swatches nicely.  Because it is a nude palette, you're sure to find one of the colors will match your skintone and the bottom, second from the left, matched mine.  However with a primer, you can enjoy any of the colors.  Here is the top row in full on sun:

And inside my house:

And the bottom row:

And all together.

I've been wearing both palettes a lot over the past couple of weeks to get a feel for them so that I can give you my analysis.  Somehow during that time, I didn't get a picture.  I sent a lot of pictures to Snapchat but only saved one dorky picture from Snap...if you want to see it.  I was trying out the Jesse's Girl matte liquid lipstick in the color Angelic.  It's a beautiful coral rose.  These are one of my top three favorite liquid lipstick formulas.  It's lightweight when you apply it and yet is very long lasting.  Super comfortable to wear and not drying whatsoever.   They are just $3.99 each and I'm going to need every color!!

The other Back Stage Collection shadow palette is called Sounds Of The City.  I love that name.  I was ecstatic when I saw the cool toned nudes.  How often do you see a cool toned shadow palette anywhere anymore, especially one with nudes?!?!?

Again, you can take this palette from easy daytime to dramatic evening, and I've done so.  For my skintone, the three shades on the top row that look similar...they show up similar on my eyes as well.  For my personal coloring, more variation of these shades might make the palette a little better for me but at $6.99, I'm not complaining!!!  I'm getting several looks that I can wear.

To me, the matte shades on the bottom of the palette have a stronger payoff than in the Natural Nudes Collection.  Aren't these fun?  You can certainly mix and match the palettes...I haven't done so yet in order to keep my opinion of each pure and set on each particular palette.  I've worn this one a lot.

As a matter of fact, during the SAG Awards, I was observing the makeup trends and was playing around with a red carpet look.  I noted all the nude eyes that I saw.  It was like the Louvre...there were nudes everywhere!!!  So I grabbed the Sounds Of The City Collection to do the beige lids that I was seeing, and threw a little drama in the crease to satisfy my craving and this is what I came up with.

I'm having a lot of fun creating with these palettes.  They have medium pigmentation...not too light and not too heavy.  The colors are buildable.  I have to be careful with the Sounds Of The City Collection or I can make it too monotone on my skintone.  You just can't beat the bargain of this cruelty-free brand.

You can purchase Jesse's Girl Cosmetics at their website, Amazon.com, and Rite-Aid.  Don't overlook this brand.  They have some of my favorite nail polishes and lipglosses, too.  Be sure to keep up with them on social media on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Pintrest and now on Snapchat as well.
