Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation and Curling Mascara - My Reviews...and More

In the picture below, we have a rare creature among beauty lovers and bloggers and it's called "pan".  Those of us who love to collect rarely see the elusive pan.  Bloggers and makeup mavens alike tend to gather so many products that it seems like we rarely use any to completion.  When a powder or cream product is truly loved, the first signs are many pictures on social media followed by the appearance of  "pan".  The act of revealing the bottom of  a product is referred to as "hitting pan".   Please pause to admire my feelings about the Osmosis Colour Pressed Mineral Base in the color Beige Light, (pictured with the e.l.f. cosmetice kabuki brush).

I'm going to tell you more about the Pressed Base but first, let's have a little chat about the Curling Mascara, ($22).   You might have noticed that both items are housed in metallic brown plum.  It so sleek and pretty.  I really appreciate the pieces for their asthetic as well as performance.

The curling mascara has a curved anti-gravity brush that will transform your normal lashes into fanned out, naturally looking curly lashes.

From the website:
"The spiral layers coat every lash for buildable volume, while the innovative cobra-shaped head provides major curl for full, astonishing lashes.

One of the ingredients for your lashes in this mascara is ProVitamin B5 which coats each lash and increases fullness, length and volume while moisturizing.  This is a long wearing waterproof formula and yet comes off easily as you remove your makeup.  It is my FAVORITE mascara.

I said favorite.  Yes, I did.  Below you see an unretouched picture of one coat of the non-flaking mascara.  I have one little spot below my lower lid where I popped myself in the eye, lol.  But I assure you that this mascara doesn't flake or have any fallout as it lasts all day.  (You'll see in a minute how delightful I look without this mascara.)

I'm going to tell you upfront that the Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation is the best powder foundation I've ever used.  It isn't powdery but rather gives a nice natural finish when buffed in with a kabuki or whatever brush you'd like to use.  Other powder foundations have made me itch and left my face dry.  I have a gluten related allergy that erupts on my face with exposure and is extremely itchy but this foundation doesn't irritate it at all.  Truly amazing.  I've tried quite a few others and haven't had a lot of success.   My color is Beige Light, which is perfect for me.

I have compared swatches to the Mac Studio Fix and Mineralized Finishing Powders that I've tried in the past.  You should note that I've never finished one of those but I will finish this one.  From left to right:
1) Mac Studio Fix N4, which is the closest match to my Osmosis Colour Beige Light.
2)  Mac Mineralized Medium
3)  Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation in Beige Light
4)  A different formula of Mac Mineralized Medium Natural plus Shimmer, which matches with the other Mac Medium
5)  Mac NW25 Studio Fix
6)  Mac NW30 Studio Fix

There are so many reasons that I love this foundation.  It doesn't itch.  It matches well.  It's not dry, nor does it call attention to my naturally dry skin.  I can make my skin glow with a decent buff.  It has great coverage without being heavy.  It doesn't melt and diseappear in the Phoenix heat.  And more.

I recently had a major surgery.  It was a couple of months before I really cared enough about what I looked like to bother with foundation.  The only place I went for the first few months was physical therapy, where I am working very hard to rehab my knee.  When I say very hard, I mean that it's a work out.  I can wear this powder, look ok, hide my celiac skin, and not breakout.  I tried wearing other foundations to even out my skin and the workouts made me break out, but not so with this one.  That's HUGE.  I already have problems with my skin from the gluten allergy, I certainly don't need pimples too!

The first day I wore it, I went to snapchat at night after checking the wear.  I've talked about this a lot on Snap.  All my followers know how I feel about it.

One day I met with a friend who works for a large cosmetic brand that is known for it's glowing skin products.  She told me that my skin looked fantastic and wanted to know what I was using.  I told her and she asked how on earth my skin was glowing with a powder foundation.  RIGHT?  It's counter-intuitive, but I'm telling you, my skin can have a nice healthy glow with this foundation without it being heavy, itchy or making me breakout!!

I'm wearing no mascara in this picture.  No highlighter, no blush, some lip balm and that's it.  I had a gluten exposure before this picture so I have a major outbreak, but with a little color correcter and this pressed base, you'd never know.  It hides all my secrets!!!! It's like a best friend that you can share the worst of yourself with and it will never reveal those things to anyone.  Who wouldn't love that???

Osmosis has so many outstanding products.  I'd really encourage you to check out their website and sign up to get the blog posts delivered to your mailbox.  I've learned a lot of general really helpful information from reading it.  Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.  I think you'll love the skincare and color products.  I know I do!

Have you experienced Osmosis yet?
