Opi I Want Applause; Muppet's Most Wanted Collection Nail Polish Swatches And Review

Finally able to do a manicure, but now sporting shorties, (dang it!!), I chose I Want Applause from the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection.  I have several different pictures to show you in different lightings.  It does change a little based on your lighting conditions, but in my opinion, the first and last pictures are most accurate.  I include the other two just so that you know what it might look like indoors or in low lighting.

Who doesn't love a great Muppet, right?  This collection has several polishes, but I knew right away that this was the first manicure I would do.  I've been wanting to do either a white or a clean pink with a white tone to it.  I Want Applause is such a pink.  It is a clean cool light pink that can lean white in certain lightings.

I loaded these pictures with my cell phone, which was a first time, so I'm desperately hoping that works out!

The first picture is outside on a cloudy day.

OPI Muppets Most Wanted, nail polish

The next picture is in the shade, but it shows how the polish may look in indoor lighting.  It leans a little warmer that way, rather than the true cool pink lean that it really is.

Muppets Most Wanted OPI nail polish collection

Again, below, I believe is more representative of the true color.

In my haste to hop a flight and ride sux hours to get home, I neglected to do the review part of this post!  I began applying I Want Applause with a thin coat.  I found it streaky and difficult to get an even application.  No worried there as I always do two coats anyway.

On my second thin coat, the polish dudnt even up and level out as I had anticipated.  Still not a huge deal to me because this perfect baby pink is worth a little effort and I put a third thicker coat.

It leveled and even out with the third coat and I put a coat of Seche Vite over the top and was good to go.  I totally and completely am head over heels in love with this nail polish!!

Opi nail polish swatches, review

I was so delighted, last night watching the Oscars, to see that this color is right on trend!  Did you notice the mani-cam they have?  I saw so many light nude to nude-pink colors...woo hoo!!

Have you seen the collection yet?  Which polish are you most looking forward to?

Pretty Excited To Find The OPI Miss Universe Nail Polish Collection Today

When I was told the OPI Miss Universe Collection of nail polish wasn't going to be available in Anchorage, I was a little dismayed. I thought the swatches I'd seen of the three colors were so beautiful. So imagine my surprise to find the trio.

The San Francisco Collection Is Coming From OPI For Fall 2013

Have you heard about the San Francisco Collection that's coming from OPI this fall? It's got three Liquid Sand colors, which I dearly love. The textures are cool and they often have awesome glitters in them. I haven't seen any swatches yet but I have a bottle group shot to show you today.

OPI San Francisco nail polish, fall 2013

There are some beautiful colors for fall 2013 here and I am especially excited for the Liquid Sand.  Can't wait to see swatches!!!

Here is a direct quote from the originator of OPI about her inspiration for this collection:

"“To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “San Francisco offers a European flair with distinct West Coast attributes. These  elements inspired a collection of urban chic nail lacquer shades, thanks to the sophisticated combination of high fashion and eclectic street style.

“With twelve colors ranging from moody grays and blues to garnet and ruby jewel tones, these lacquers are designed to accessorize fall’s hottest looks, from military details to winter whites,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “On fall runways, models were seen wearing luxurious textures from head to toe. The three newLiquid Sand nail lacquers incorporate the texture trend through nails, with rich matte finishes in colors to complement the season’s fashion.”

You can find OPI products at most salons and some other stores such as JC Penneys, Regis, and Ulta. For more information, you can always visit http://www.opi.com

OPI Releases NEW! Pure Lacquer Nail App with Designs Inspired by Skyfall

James Bond 007

OPI adds four new, limited-edition designs to the Pure Lacquer Nail App collection, which offers instant, easy-to-apply nail designs. The precut nail strips are made of 100% real nail lacquer and provide a high-shine finish, long-lasting wear, and zero drying time. The new designs inspired by Skyfall include Nice Tux (silver and black glitter zig zag stripe), Positively Shocking (glittery gold), Floating Dragon (bright red crème with black dragon print) and Shaken Not Stirred (silver with martini glass print).

“We are pleased to expand our Pure Lacquer Nail App offerings with designs inspired by OPI’s thrilling partnership with EON Productions and Skyfall,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The popularity of nail design is booming with both the everyday woman and nail professionals. It's Bond, James Bond, And The OPI Skyfall Collection

This week I stumbled across the OPI Skyfall Collection that is in collaboration with the new Bond, James Bond, movie. I triple dog dare you to try and say 007's name without the iconic pauses within his complete name. You can't do it, can you? I can't either. It's Bond, James Bond. It will always be Bond, James Bond. It's impossible to not say it that way.  And try it without an English accent.  Quadruple dog dare ya!!

I don't have pictures to show you yet but what I do have is the offical press release and hi-res images that I am ready to share right now. So read, let's read, and see what we discover.  And might I remind you that EVEN the Her Majesty, the Queen falls for Bond, James Bond!

OPI Marks 50 Years of Bond 007 with Holiday Lacquers Inspired by Skyfall

This holiday season, OPI celebrates the 50th Anniversary of a fellow world icon – James Bond – appearing in Skyfall. Starring Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem, this highly-anticipated twenty-third installment opens in theaters nationwide on November 9, 2012.

Inspired by the film’s blend of glamour and danger, OPI launches Skyfall Collection, featuring twelve limited-edition nail lacquers for Holiday 2012. “OPI is thrilled to work with EON Productions to celebrate 50 years of the style, swagger and mystique associated with Bond 007,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “From metallic and glitter finishes to jewel tones and even a jet black, these lacquers capture the film’s sophisticated and glamorous look."

“Watch for Bérénice Marlohe wearing two Skyfall Collection shades in the film,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With Skyfall, a rich maroon, painted on top of the nail and GoldenEye, a shimmering gold, painted on the undersides, Marlohe’s luxurious manicure will be the one to try this holiday season.”

(Here comes Polarbelle for a moment>>>> I have to tell you I can't wait to see what they do with GoldenEye. It is the most unusual gold I have ever seen. It's truly eye catching. Ok, back to PR....)

The Skyfall Collection features six shades that play off the movie’s seductive theme, and another six that offer a more dangerous look, including:

GoldenEye
All eyes will be upon you when you wear this glorious gold.

The Spy Who Loved Me
A red as romantic as the secret agent inside you.

Die Another Day
Live in the moment in this hot and lively red.

Casino Royale
This high-rolling plum is fit for royalty.

You Only Live Twice
This rich high-shimmer magenta is a once-in-a-lifetime find.

Skyfall
Get Bonded with this magnificent maroon.

Moonraker
Drive your fastest car to get this exhilarating metallic grey.

Tomorrow Never Dies
This eternally intense purple will live forever.

The Living Daylights
This courageous multi-hued glitter sparkles 24/007.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
This misty-green pewter commands attention.

Live & Let Die
Burn the candles on both ends in this private jet black.

The World is Not Enough
This rosy silver is as addictive as it is beautiful.

As with all OPI nail lacquers, these shades inspired by Skyfall contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

OPI Pink of Hearts, Katy Perry Teenage Dream and Breast Cancer Support

Here is a mani on it's fifth day, which is headed for a shot of crackle via OPI Black Shatter...but before I do so, I'll show you the gloriousness and that which has earned me the coolest compliments of the week.

It begain with a color issued to support Breast Cancer Research, OPI Pink of Hearts. It's a light frosted pale pink. It is glorious on it's own but I chose to start my road to crackling via Black Shatter with this polish because the swatches I've seen of Teenage Dream has made it look a little sheer. And I adore the glitteryness of Teenage Dream, thus I wanted to wear that alone for a few days and let my inner 14 year old thrive off the sparkles before I indulge my crafty side and hit the art of crackle with my much anticipated Black Shatter. I just wanted a little more of an opaque color to start, so I used one coat of the special color OPI Pink of Hearts, part of the October polishes which OPI released to support Breast Cancer Research.

Photobucket

The picture is blurred, but it gives you an idea of the color that was used. If you've seen this color in person, it applies as true as it looks in the bottle.

Next I uncorked the lust of my desire of over a month, Teenage Dream. I wanted this baby BAD! I applied two coats. I have had such great covereage that I delayed my application of Black Shatter, (which I am dying to do), because even after five days, there is literally ZERO tip wear. And I wear invisalign, so I have to use my first two nails on both hands several times a day to pry those puppies off my teeth so I can eat and brush and all that. This polish wears like a dream, (truth AND pun intended). And by the way, I did NOT use a topcoat because my intension is to crackle this, so the shine is pure OPI. My result thus far looks like this:

Don't pass up this Katy Perry OPI collection. The colors are fabulous. The wear is fabulous and it's just a joy to look at the pretty colors in the bottles.

OPI DS Magic + Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytail = Wintry Sparkle

I loved this combination. I got many compliments on my nails everywhere I went, so I wore it for three weeks. Yes, peeps, three weeks, despite a little grow out at the beds and it took that long to see wear. Glitter polishes, while a challenge to get off sometimes, wear like iron and don't really show wear. I call them fabulous.

I started with a base layer of Gelous, the one with the blue top. Then two layers of OPI DS Magic. I showed my husband and said "whaddaya think", knowing he would hate blue nails. He didn't let me down...he gagged.  I told him, "have faith, I am not done yet". I let all that dry overnight just to make sure I could pull this off right. This is what I showed him, (and I apologize that I hadn't done the clean up yet and that the picture is huge):

The next day, I added Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytail, (or TWAF in nail-speak), in a gradient fashion. A light coat from the base to tip with more concentration at the tip. Total success. Loved it.

Yeah, my first actual post with information and pictures has blurry cell phone pics, but better than nothing! Try this manicure; it rocks.

Guess what I'm doing New Year's Eve?  Yeah, that's right...some fabulous black with Lippmann TWAF in a gradient over the top.
