Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare Deep Clean Detox Cleanser Review

Hey guys!  Today I wanted to tell you about a cleanser I've been testing from Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare.  It's called Deep Clean Detox Cleanser, ( 50 ml/$21 ).  It is an all natural, vegan and gluten free formula.  It is good for all skin types, including acne prone skin, and uses citrus essential oils and coconut surfactants to deeply remove impurities while also lifting away makeup.  To me, it smells like an orange peel and I absolutely love the scent.

The cleanser is dispensed by a pump top.  It looks a little like a gel when it comes out and when used with water, is a lightly foaming cleanser.  While it helps to remove acne and makeup, it does so without disturbing the lipid layer of the skin.  It works effectively without stripping or drying the skin.  After being rinsed away, the skin is left feeling slightly hydrated with a satiny finish.

Here are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxypropylsulfonate Laurylglucoside Crosspolymer, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Coco-Glucoside Tartrate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Amaranth Protein, Lauryl Glucoside, Citrus Sinensis var. Sanguina (Blood Orange) Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Oil, Santalum Austrocaledonicum (Sandalwood) Wood Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Hydroxypropylsulfonate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer, Gluconolactone, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Benzoate.

I want to tell you about the purpose of some of the ingredients in this product, straight from Osmosis.
Lemongrass - kills germs
Lemon, grapefruit and orange peel oils - antioxidants with purifying properties
Coconut surfactant - penetrates dirt and debris
Sandalwood oil - softens skin

The instructions will say to apply to damp skin and lather.  Use morning and night.  Leave on an extra 30 seconds for deeper cleansing.  With use, I think you might find clearer looking skin and a reduction in the look of pores, as I have.  This product is safe for all skin types.

I say this in every Osmosis review, (because it's true) - I regularly learn so many interesting things from the Osmosis blog.  I subscribe via email and it covers all kinds of things, not only Osmosis products, but so much more.  I really recommend subscribing.  You can learn more about Osmosis by following them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.  Osmosis is one of my favorite brands and I hope you'll consider following and learning more about them.

How do you feel about natural skincare?  What is your favorite cleanser?  Have you tried Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare?

Osmosis Brow Gel; My Experience & Review

When I first started wearing makeup beyond simply foundation and blush, I used to spend a lot of time at the Mac Counter learning application methods and exploring color options.  As I went for lesson after lesson, I learned that applying a little powder to brows could finish a look.  Like just about everyone who came before and after me, I said "why do I need anything on the brows, look how full they are".  Back then, Mac Cork eyeshadow was the standard for brows.  Fast forward to today and brows have a life of their own!!  This is the age of insta-brows.  A good brow can make your look and a bad brow can get you unfollowed on social media,  Brows are everything now and require a product that stays put, applies well, isn't patchy and will order your favorite coffee for you.

Recently, I was offered Osmosis Brow Gel, (4gm / $25), to try.  They have adorable and clever packaging.  They make me think of the Keebler Elves little house.  I don't know why but they do.

The packaging is simply brilliant.  The top comes off the lid where you see the line in the middle.  Inside is a tiny brow brush.  It's the smallest brush I've every used, measuring at around 1/8" in width.

Flip the brush upside down and it fits perfectly on top of the lid, giving you a comfortable brush to hold to paint those tiny little brow hairs.  This small brush enables you to precisely draw the brows that you want.

I received two colors; Brown and Taupe, pictured above at left and right.  When I had surgery several months ago, it was difficult on my body and I lost most of my brow hairs.  I started drawing in the tails at that time and found out two really important brow details.  First, not all brow makeup will draw on skin that doesn't have hair and second, some brow products will migrate and melt on the skin.

Osmosis Brow Gel does neither of those nasty things.  It fulfills my two brow requirements.  I prefer a product to be easy to draw a brow with and my top priority is that I can put it where I want and it will stay.  This gel doesn't melt in the Phoenix heat.  I'm so thankful!!!  I was using a couple of high end brow products prior to this that just ended up all over my brow bone but not where it should have been.

I've been using the brown to draw in my brow tail and general shape and I use the taupe to fill in.  Sometimes I use all brown or all taupe.  I can wear each color equally well as my brows are a mix of blonde, dark brown and a few white hairs.  The members of my family each have their preferences for my brows, so I accomodate depending on who I'm with and how I want my overall look that day.

In the following picture, you'll see brown at the top and taupe at the bottom.

It seems that every time I review an Osmosis product, I tell you that it's fabulous and performs unlike anything else I've used in its particular category.  I don't want to sound like I'm repeating a mantra, but honestly, this is the best brow gel I've ever used.  Osmosis makes outstanding products, in my experience, and this brow gel is no exception.  I can draw my brow tail down to my chin if I want and it won't move or smudge.  It won't melt and looks great all day.  It is water resistant and I seriously couldn't be more impressed with it.

I love the packaging.  I love the tiny little precise brush that lets me achieve whatever look I want to on any given day.  I find this easy to use and long lasting.  And really, in a brow product, that's exactly what I need.  You want to put a brow on and forget about it for the rest of the day.  I've been excited to find my holy grail brow product!

Osmosis is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified company.  The brow gel is gluten free and oncology friendly.  I always suggest that you subscribe to their blog.  I've learned SO much from receiving those emails in my inbox.   You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

Do you have a favorite non-melting brow product?  Can you believe brows are having such a makeup moment??

Can Osmosis Skincare's Sugar Detox Harmonized Water Help Kick The Sugar Addiction?

I was recently introduced to a section of healthcare supplements from Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare called harmonized water.  What is it?  Well, it's water.   There are several different types, each claming a different purpose, and all are 100% water that have been enhanced with proprietory frequencies in the form of scalar waves.  Scalar waves are said to be a specific kind of energy field that, unless you're a physicist, might not really be of interest to you via a scientific explanation.  Layman's terms are that it's an energy field containing directional vector and wave energies.  The Osmosis Harmonized Waters are affected by different energy fields to achieve a variety of types of effects.  The Harmonized Water I sampled is called Sugar Detox, (100 ml / $30).  My curiosity peaked at the very name.

Here are the claims made by the company:

"All of us are experiencing the effects of aging from Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs). This results from excess sugar in our blood stream attaching to collagen making it tough and aging it before its time which leads to wrinkles. The sugar-protein bonds form these new molecules called AGEs. Over time AGEs become more permanent and affect the ability of our fibroblasts to create collagen. They also produce free radicals increasing the aging process even more.

Osmosis Skincare’s Sugar Detox Harmonized Water is specifically designed to address all aspects of sugar and sweetener overload. This Harmonized Water contains frequencies that help balance the pancreas, improve sugar utilization, detox sweeteneres from the liver, balance nerve damage associated with diabetes, help control sugar levels and reduce the effects of gylcation in the body. With daily use, there is now less sugar available to cause damage and help stop AGE-ing."

Bottom line, sugar ages us faster as it screws up our collagen processing, causing wrinkles and lasting aging damage.  Osmosis suggests that Sugar Detox can help.  I was interested to sample this and had hoped to kick my massive sugar addiction.  I've quit sugar before for decades at a time.  Most recently, when I went back to sugar, the cravings were worse than I'd ever had and were driving forces to my behavior.  The cravings drove me to the candy bowl again and again each day.  It is an addiction and it's a real beast!!

I started to incorporate the Sugar Detox into my day.  I received this right before a major surgery so I wasn't able to try it for a few months.  When I started, I had a hard time working it into my schedule at first.  Finding the right place for the bottle was key.  I rearranged my whole vanity to make this an easier 2x day step for myself.

The instructions are to use 5 squirts in your mouth twice a day, and 7 if you're over 175 lbs.  I began my oral squirting process with a good mix of skepticism and hope.  The attractive bottle and the easy to aim squirting mechanism eased my break into my new routine.

As I do often in testing products, I used it regularly for a bit, took a break, and then started it again to see what differences, if any, I noticed.  Gurrrrrllll!!  It was night and day.  The days I used Sugar Detox, I never had that driving can't-deny-it craving for candy.  And I certainly didn't have that drive 5 times a day...I'm telling you I built up an awful habit.  But with steady use of the Sugar Detox, not only did I feel better, but I didn't have that strong urge to HAVE to eat chocolate all day every day.

I'm telling you this absolutely worked for me.  And I even see a positive difference in my complexion.  The whole idea might sound funky, but this worked for me.  I'm a believer.  And now I'm in that desperate place where I suddently realized I only have a couple days worth left and I'm worried.  I wasn't on it long enough at one time to have totally defeated the beast and I don't want to go without it.  Because it worked for me.  It really really did.

This product isn't evaluated by the FDA for it's claims or even it's efficacy and all I can tell you is my experience.  My personal testimony is it worked for me and it's totally worth taking a $30 risk.  I probably never would have believed it if I hadn't experienced it for myself.

Osmosis is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified company.  I always suggest that you subscribe to their blog.  I've learned SO much from receiving those emails in my inbox.   You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

How about you?  Do you need to kick a brutal sugar habit?  Have you ever tried a supplement like this?

Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation and Curling Mascara - My Reviews...and More

In the picture below, we have a rare creature among beauty lovers and bloggers and it's called "pan".  Those of us who love to collect rarely see the elusive pan.  Bloggers and makeup mavens alike tend to gather so many products that it seems like we rarely use any to completion.  When a powder or cream product is truly loved, the first signs are many pictures on social media followed by the appearance of  "pan".  The act of revealing the bottom of  a product is referred to as "hitting pan".   Please pause to admire my feelings about the Osmosis Colour Pressed Mineral Base in the color Beige Light, (pictured with the e.l.f. cosmetice kabuki brush).

I'm going to tell you more about the Pressed Base but first, let's have a little chat about the Curling Mascara, ($22).   You might have noticed that both items are housed in metallic brown plum.  It so sleek and pretty.  I really appreciate the pieces for their asthetic as well as performance.

The curling mascara has a curved anti-gravity brush that will transform your normal lashes into fanned out, naturally looking curly lashes.

From the website:
"The spiral layers coat every lash for buildable volume, while the innovative cobra-shaped head provides major curl for full, astonishing lashes.

One of the ingredients for your lashes in this mascara is ProVitamin B5 which coats each lash and increases fullness, length and volume while moisturizing.  This is a long wearing waterproof formula and yet comes off easily as you remove your makeup.  It is my FAVORITE mascara.

I said favorite.  Yes, I did.  Below you see an unretouched picture of one coat of the non-flaking mascara.  I have one little spot below my lower lid where I popped myself in the eye, lol.  But I assure you that this mascara doesn't flake or have any fallout as it lasts all day.  (You'll see in a minute how delightful I look without this mascara.)

I'm going to tell you upfront that the Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation is the best powder foundation I've ever used.  It isn't powdery but rather gives a nice natural finish when buffed in with a kabuki or whatever brush you'd like to use.  Other powder foundations have made me itch and left my face dry.  I have a gluten related allergy that erupts on my face with exposure and is extremely itchy but this foundation doesn't irritate it at all.  Truly amazing.  I've tried quite a few others and haven't had a lot of success.   My color is Beige Light, which is perfect for me.

I have compared swatches to the Mac Studio Fix and Mineralized Finishing Powders that I've tried in the past.  You should note that I've never finished one of those but I will finish this one.  From left to right:
1) Mac Studio Fix N4, which is the closest match to my Osmosis Colour Beige Light.
2)  Mac Mineralized Medium
3)  Osmosis Colour Pressed Base Mineral Foundation in Beige Light
4)  A different formula of Mac Mineralized Medium Natural plus Shimmer, which matches with the other Mac Medium
5)  Mac NW25 Studio Fix
6)  Mac NW30 Studio Fix

From the Osmosis website:

"Formulated for all skin types, the Osmosis Colour Pressed Base provides a flawless and seamless, semi-matte finish with long-lasting coverage. Natural broad-spectrum UV protection shields skin from UVA and UVB rays, helping to prevent premature aging and hyperpigmentation. It applies quickly and easily with no mess and is packaged in a stylish mirrored compact.  Gluten-Free"

You can review the list of ingredients for each color at this link.

There are so many reasons that I love this foundation.  It doesn't itch.  It matches well.  It's not dry, nor does it call attention to my naturally dry skin.  I can make my skin glow with a decent buff.  It has great coverage without being heavy.  It doesn't melt and diseappear in the Phoenix heat.  And more.

I recently had a major surgery.  It was a couple of months before I really cared enough about what I looked like to bother with foundation.  The only place I went for the first few months was physical therapy, where I am working very hard to rehab my knee.  When I say very hard, I mean that it's a work out.  I can wear this powder, look ok, hide my celiac skin, and not breakout.  I tried wearing other foundations to even out my skin and the workouts made me break out, but not so with this one.  That's HUGE.  I already have problems with my skin from the gluten allergy, I certainly don't need pimples too!

The first day I wore it, I went to snapchat at night after checking the wear.  I've talked about this a lot on Snap.  All my followers know how I feel about it.

One day I met with a friend who works for a large cosmetic brand that is known for it's glowing skin products.  She told me that my skin looked fantastic and wanted to know what I was using.  I told her and she asked how on earth my skin was glowing with a powder foundation.  RIGHT?  It's counter-intuitive, but I'm telling you, my skin can have a nice healthy glow with this foundation without it being heavy, itchy or making me breakout!!

I'm wearing no mascara in this picture.  No highlighter, no blush, some lip balm and that's it.  I had a gluten exposure before this picture so I have a major outbreak, but with a little color correcter and this pressed base, you'd never know.  It hides all my secrets!!!! It's like a best friend that you can share the worst of yourself with and it will never reveal those things to anyone.  Who wouldn't love that???

Osmosis has so many outstanding products.  I'd really encourage you to check out their website and sign up to get the blog posts delivered to your mailbox.  I've learned a lot of general really helpful information from reading it.  Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.  Osmisis Skincare is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified company.  I think you'll love the skincare and color products.  I know I do!
