Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick 165 Champs-Elysees Swatches And Review With Wet N Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Trio

Fuchsia is a great color for spring, summer, fall, winter...well, anytime really.  It's bright and happy.  I have many in the color range.  Some are more red, some are more sheer, some are more purple...on the day I purchased Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipsick Champs-Elysees, I was looking for a long wearing fuchsia that wouldn't end up red, but stay that lovely bright pink on my lips.

There were SO many Guerlain lipsticks I wanted...every finish, every color range...I love them all.  I bought several but the one I am showing you today is the one I went to the counter looking for.  The color is a creamy shiney fuchsia pink with a hint of red.  It's in the new lipstick applicator with no lid.  I'm a little behind the power curve with this new fangled tube.  I open it upside down every time.  One day I'll get it.  I'm sure most people are quicker on the uptake than I am.

This is a swatchy swatch outside in the sunshine.

And lippie swatches, indoor and out:

This lipstick is both moisturizing and long wearing. It even says so on the box! But it's true, it's a really comfortable wearing lipstick and gives a long amount of wear. I'm pretty pleased.

I recently wore this with Wet N Wild's Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Trio, which looks something like this:

It's a wonderful neutral palette and especially fantastic for taupe lovers. I wore it lightly on the day pictured and it made a nice simple look for church.

Here's the end result of the day:

Chanel Summer 2011 Lilium Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad Review and Swatches

Chanel launches eyeshadow quads with many new releases and this summer's collection is no exception. The quad, named Lilium, contains a fabulous deep green in a cool toned emerald color, a lightly shimmery taupe, a lightly shimmering pale yellowy-green, and a very shimmery light pink. The quad is somewhat brighter in color than my picture would lead you to believe. My screen is showing the light green as somewhat sandy, which it is not, and is showing the taupe a little darker than it is.

The following is a picture with my iphone, which is more accurate with the greens, while showing the taupe a little darker than it really is. The pink is accurate in the digi cam photo above, and washed out in the iphone photo. Because of the different ways the cameras auto-adjust colors, neither could get all four colors accurately, hence the two different cameras used.

I picked this quad to purchase because of the variety of colors and how well they'll work together. It's a different type of combination than many of the quads lately.

Here's some pictures on my skin, in different lighting, the second picture showing the new waterproof eyeliner as well!

The following picture is more of a closeup to show the shimmery quality of the pink color. It's going to be fabulous for highlighting at the browline and also in the inner most corner of the eye. You'll see the nearly lime light yellow green to the right.

The following picture shows the taupe and the green a little better by themselves. Even tho it's fuzzy, the colors show fairly well:

Here's a final look at the quad. I love how this photo shows the pink. This quad retails in the US for $57 dollars everywhere Chanel is sold. (I purchased mine at Nordstrom.)

Chanel Summer 2011 Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner Rose Platine Review and Swatches

The new Chanel Summer color story is fabulous for Chanel lovers. I believe that one of the star standouts of the Les Fleurs d'Ete de Chanel collection is the waterproof eyeliner in Rose Platine. It is a shimmering taupe color, which takes on silvery or rose tones depending on lighting and your skin color. The MA raved about it's use on the waterline, as she was wearing it. It's definitely waterproof as I've tested that aspect extensively already. It is $29 wherever Chanel is sold.

The liner is in a roll-up applicator.

I have arm swatches and eye swatches for you to view. On the eyes, I wore nothing but the new Mac highlighting primer and LORAC 3D mascara and applied Rose Platine underneath the bottom lashes. I hoped that it would be easiest for you to see it that way in photographs, with no other distractions.

Perhaps I should have applied it heavier for the photographs, but in real life, it's just the perfect accent. Here it is on my arm, which is kinda tanned right now, more so than my face:

My goodness, that's pretty!! More Chanel Summer 2011 reviews to come!
