Today I Received An Order From Urban Decay - Sneak Peeks

Affiliate Link

Today I received a box that I had ordered from Urban Decay. I was dazzled by the Shattered Face Case. It looks cool on the outside and inside is your "face in a case" for a long weekend, vacation or anytime. I'm already loving this more than I had imagined when I ordered it. Here's the outside.

And on the inside there are two levels to the palette.  You get five eyeshadows, a Lovechild High Gloss Lip Color, one of Urban Decay's awesome eyeliners, a blush, a bronzer and a highlight.  And there are great mirrors inside.  I promise swatches to come!

And while I was sitting around playing on Instagram, I also loaded a picture of my new Naked Illuminator.

This is a mini "pretty picture" post with full review and swatches in the future.  You can purchase the UD items on Sephora.com, in Sephora stores, or on Urban Decay's own website.  Additionally, Urban Decay products are sold online at Beauty.com and Amazon.

Khroma Beauty Khloe's Kardazzle Eye and Face Palette Swatches and Review

In this post, I introduced you to Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and promised some reviews. Today we're going to look at one of the palettes called Khloe's Kardazzle. It is the gold palette in the following display.

Khroma Beauty Eyeshadow Lip Display, Kardashian Beauty

If you notice at the bottom of the display, there are three different palette combinations pictured, but my store had just two different kinds; one for Kim and one for Khloe. I'm curious to know if any of you have seen a palette that might be labeled as Kourtney. Anyway, let's take a look at Khloe's Kardazzle.

Pretty, isn't it? Even prettier inside! OOOO LA LA!!

It's a complete face palette featuring eight eyeshadows, (four matte and four shimmer), a blush, a highlighter and a bronzer, all with a fully mirrored lid. Best of all, this palette retails for just $12.99. I like that you have four matte shadows with the four shimmers. This combination provides for easy use and great combinations.

The shadows are smooth, silky and go on with no fallout. I have worn this palette several different times and every time, not even kidding, I've worn it over 12 hours with no creasing, fading or fallout. That's really amazing, especially at the price point. I have shadows that are much more expensive that don't last half as long. I'm pretty impressed with the quality.

How about swatches of the eyeshadows? They are a good corresponding array of hues.

I was surprised the palette contained a full mirror. I was equally as surprised to find the bottom compartment that contains a blush, highlighter and a bronzer.

Swatched on my arm, it is hard to see the shades very well. My face is quite a bit lighter than my arms due to all the fabulous skincare and efforts that I use to take care of that more exposed skin. In this palette, both the blush and bronzer work better for me as blushes because the bronzer is so light on me. I have olive undertones and I suspect people with undertones that produce that beautiful pale skin will marvel at this bronzer, having finally found the one that works for them. The highlighter is just awesome for me and for anybody.

My overall opinion is that these palettes are wonderful. I purchased both Kim and Khloe. For the price, they are a SUPERB value!! I found mine at Fred Meyer, and they are also sold at Ulta, Sears, Kmart, CVS and Duane Reade. You can follow Khroma Beauty on Facebook, and on Twitter.
Have you seen the products in your neighborhood yet?  Do you want to know else I purchased from the line?

Edited to add:  I need to note that the palette itself is a lightweight plastic.  It kind of surprised me but I don't mind a bit because it keeps the cost down for someone like me to a teen wanting her first "grown-up" palette.)

Chanel Malice Blush Swatches and Review

It's that time of year again...time for new Chanel blushes!! I have purchased one so far, Chanel Malice, and have it for your viewing today. I chose this one, in part, because the display at my store wasn't reachable, so there was no playing with them and swatching at the counter. I felt Malice would be the one that was the most different from my other blushes. I have a bazillion pink blushes....because I love them....so I imagine I'll be back to the counter soon to investigate the others; in the meantime, let's look at Chanel Malice.
Chanel Malice Blush

Malice is a beautiful coral color with golden microshimmer that adds shine, not glitter, to your cheeks. It applies smoothly, as do all Chanel blushes, with virtually no fallout. You can see, swatched on my arm, that the gold doesn't make an obvious statement but provides sheen. I desperately need sheen for my dry skin.

This first time I wore this blush, I applied it heavily with the brush it came with, in order for it to show well in pictures. The lighting is a little screwy, but this picture gives you the basic idea. You know in the Wizard of Oz where from behind the curtain, the Wizard says "pay no attention to the man behing the curtain"? Well, use that voice and hear me say "pay no attention to the terrible lack of concealor on the undereye area!"

The next time I wore it, I took some better photos. But I must warn you...I was letting my hair air-dry that day asmy shoulder isn't healed enough from injury and surgery to hold a blow dryer and my husband wasn't home to give me the princess treatment. It's scary hair, which is normally mildly curly and has had a Keratin smoothing treatment. Don't say you haven't been warned!!

In the last two photos, I used my Mac 168 blush brush to apply Malice. A regular blush brush is preferable to me than the one provided by Chanel, but it will do in a pinch. Malice says it's made in France, but it has the pressed US version that is powder free, rather than the powderous European baked versions. I prefer that; it's easier to apply. It will set you back a mere $43 USD and is available at Nordstrom, Chanel online and other major department stores.

(The rest of my face in the second set is Mac Mineralized SPF15 foundation NW20, TIGI Love Affair High Intensity Eyeshadow Quad <3, Dior Cherie Bow Addict Extreme Lipstick with a little Dior Glow Addict Ultra-Gloss).

(I have an affiliate relationship with Nordstrom.  Links are provided for your ease.  All items were purchased with my husband's hard earned cash.)

Have you checked out the new Chanel blushes yet?  What is your favorite check combination for this spring?
