Mac Quite Cute Giggly Blush, Miss Behave Blush and Party Time lipstick Swatches and Review

Meet Mac Miss Behave Mineralized Blush. She had me at Hello.

I previewed the Mac Quite Cute Collection when I was passing thru a rather large Nordstrom that sets the new items out a couple weeks ahead so they can take preorders. I swiped this blush and saw that it is perfect for a highlighter, reminding me very much of Lightscapade MSF. Here is a photo of the peach swatched, the teal shimmer swatched, and the two mixed and swatched. It's the mix that reminds me of the natural glow I get from Lightscapade.

My very first Mac Quite Cute face involved swiping Miss Behave Mineralized Blush along the top of my cheekbones and on the apples of my cheeks. Yes, the apples!! What overcame me? Who puts highlighter on the apples?

Seriously, I just wanted to bathe in the blush because I really love it, and I've got the driest face on the planet, I'm sure, so I need a little glow where I have none. The little highlight in the picture is, you guessed it, supplied by Miss Behave.

I didn't buy the quad, so my eyes are done with Mac In the Galley eye quad over a base of Buxom Collie, with LORAC 3D mascara. Now, I know you're smart enough to figure out that I used another blush for the color along the cheek bones. And I'll bet you figured out that it was Mac Giggly Mineralized Blush. The MA at the Nordstrom had put it on me which was a good choice cuz when I looked at it, I thought wow, I don't need another pink blush. But when I saw it on and the pep it gave me, my knees got weak. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

And this is the blush swatched with the pink base, the maroon heart, and then mixed together:

I finished off my "look" with Party Time lipstick. OOOOOoooo, I do love this lipstick. The next picture is showing Playing Koi lipstick on the bottom and Party Time lipstick on the top.

Here's a picture that shows the whole look together, and I apologize for not putting a little color on the eyebrows. I was going to the dentist and just didn't want him to think a supermodel showed up instead of me.

After I got my new invisalign trays, I thought it would be a great idea to get a picture of the whole look. We'd had a snowstorm the day before and the angle the sun is at this time of year is right straight in a person's eyes. It was made worse by the reflection of the bright snow. As a consquence, I swore my eyes were opened when I took this picture. Lol!!

Stayed tuned for more Mac Quite Cute swatches and reviews to come!

A Sparkly OPI Black Shatter Via Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream of Me

I just had done my nails with Sally Hanson Instra-Dry in Presto Pink with Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream of Me over the top for some added flash, as posted below in my blog.

I had forgotten I was do for new Invisalign trays in two days. If you've had Invisalign, you know what a bugger it is to get those new trays in and out the first day. Consequently, I chipped some polish at the dentist's office right away.

No biggie, I really wanted to apply OPI Black Shatter anyway. I thought it would be good over bright pink with flash. The problem I had was dreaming of a SPARKLY Black Shatter, which so far doesn't exist. The answer to my desire was to apply Black Shatter and then top it with Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream of Me, for extra flash. And this is the result:

It's very difficult to photograph because of the sheen of Dream, but you get the idea. There is a light blue micro shimmer over the top of the Shatter that's really cool. Can't wait to see what I do next. :)

Revlon Fashion's Night Pout Lipstick Swatch and Review

Revlon Colorstay are some of my favorite lipsticks in formulation, comfort and longevity of wear. And if you're in the right place at the right time, you might find a coupon to save a little cash or to buy more. These soft and silky lipsticks are a tease in that they wear very very well, they are low maintenance, and they feel so delightful on the lips that one would just think they'd melt right off, but they stand up to the tests and trials of the day as well as any higher priced brand. And virtually scent free. Always a plus to those of us who are prone to migraines from highly fragranced lipsticks.

Well, I did promise a lip swatch so here it is:

I know, right? The PERFECT nude lipstick for me!! I didn't expect to find this in my town for at least another month, and couldn't believe it when I saw the three lonely lipsticks sitting in the display with the nail polish, (review to come). And tempted as I was to buy more than one, I have to say I left the other two for some lucky people to find their perfect nude.

Mac Quite Cute Plushglass Swatches and Review

The Mac Quite Cute Collection introduces four new colors of Plushglass. Plushglass is said to have a plumping factor and they are the sweetest smelling of all the glosses Mac makes. They smell like cookies. Just yummy! Plushglasses are sheer gloss with some providing more color than others. The photo below shows swatches of the new limited edition colors.

From left to right, the names are Bubble Tea, Fashion Fanatic, Girl Loves Boy, (Labeled on the lipglass with a heart instead of the word Loves), and I Love You, (again with a <3 all="" and="" are="" be="" but="" can="" collection="" coordinating="" course="" designed="" however="" in="" instead="" like.="" like="" lipsticks="" love="" match="" mix="" of="" p="" the="" them="" to="" whatever="" with="" word="" worn="" you="">
Bubble Tea is a milky slightly peachy beige nude that has a microshimmer that is imperceptible on the lips. Fashion Fanatic is a peachy pink that is so sheer it really doesn't add any color to the lips. It has a little more shimmer to it than Bubble Tea, but really shows mostly as a slightly warm clear shine.

Girl Loves Boy is the most pigmented of the four and is a slightly cool pink. I Love You is a slightly cool toned light lavendar, again not applying much pigment but just a hint of lavendar to the lips.

Here's a couple more pictures of the glosses in the tubes. Ain't they purdy?

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Color 210 Presto Pink and Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream of Me Review

If you read my blog a few days ago, you know I had to get a new phone. And with a new phone, one must purchase a new case or two. I love the cases I bought; the first one matching my iPad case. The second is a Kate Spade polka dot with hot pink around the edge. LOVE! The first thing I said to my friend when she said, "you neeeeeeeeed this" is 'oh no, my nails don't match.' Now they do.

I started with China Glaze strong adhesion base coat and threw a coat of Gelous over it. I'd been wanting to try a one coat color so while at Target, I picked up Sally Hansen Instra-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color in the color 210 Presto Pink. This does work as a one coat color. It has the strangest brush I've encountered. It reminds me a lot of a lip brush because it is rounded and flat, like a mini-tongue. You have to be very careful in how much color you pick up with it because with one dip, you could literally cover four nails.

Streaking is not a problem with this polish. It magically melds into a non-streaky finish. How it does it is a mystery to me, but it kind of has a different composition and somehow straightens out my bobbles and goofs. This is the polish with one coat.

I apologize that I didn't realize my camera was focusing on the polka dots, rather than on the nails. But it's a pretty good match, don't you think?

After I played around with my phone a little, I decided to apply Deborah Lippmann Luxurious Nail Color in Dream A Little Dream of Me. I got it about a month ago and have been itching to use it. It looks sheer pink in the bottle with blue micro-shimmers. And here it is applied over Presto Pink in a photo so big that you can really see the Lippmann shimmers.

A fairly fabulous way to try a couple new items and match my new cell case! In the last picture, I have finished with one coat of China Glaze In A Hurry Air Dry Top Coat.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Serum Firming Lift Wrinkle Correction Review

This is the story of a girl who has loads of fun searching for and discovering beauty products. The girl loves color of all kinds, whether it is the colors found in the natural world or a color cosmetic that magically transforms from the beauty of it's pristine container to the duality of color found when applying the product to the skin. Many ooohs and ahhhs have been uttered as the girl has reveled in the nuances in each color product observed.

Enter skincare...a new fabulous world all it's own. Skincare is often colorless and deemed boring and confusing by the girl who lives for color, and yet, she can appreciate a delightful scent, a youthful glow, and a product that lives up to it's claims. Always On the quest for pretty color, the girl stopped by a Guerlain counter while on vacation as it is not available for personal viewing to in her hometown. Having appreciated the wondrous colors of Guerlain Cosmetics via the magic of the Internet, this girl had to run to the counter while she could and have an eyeful!

And this is where the story becomes all about me! I had in mind to purchase a couple of lipsticks that I'd seen swatches of on the net that I thought just might transform me into a supermodel. Sure enough, trying them at the counter had me convinced. I purchased one and had to order the other. While ringing me up, the Guerlain fairy, Jessica, asked me what skincare I used and I told her La Mer. She asked if I'd tried Guerlain, which I hadn't, this being the first time at their counter, so she told me about some stuff, I nodded like I was paying attention and she put some samples in my bag.

I just happened to read the information on this serum, although I was fully convinced I needed no other skincare since I spend way too much on it as it is. The literature was different and sounded interesting. The serum is made using French royal bee jelly. I used royal bee jelly products in the past and really liked them so that grabbed my attention. This product claims that the bee jelly helps work to increase the ability of skin to repair from within by 63% in just sixteen hours. Over time, the product is said to continue to heal within, which would make skin look better and better, right?

Ok, they made me curious with all the claims so I tried the little package. I used it on my face, throat and chest twice a day. Unfortunately, there are no before and after pictures because I figured it would just be another little serum to get me thru vacation, but ladies and gentlemen, Jessica lead me to the fountain of youth!! Within just two days, I saw a remarkable decrease in my lip lines. I have a couple of hereditary deep vertical lines on my upper lip and they actually decreased in just a couple of days. Amen and glory hallelujah!! This product has been miraculous.

The Abeille Royal Youth Serum is only sold at Nordstrom counters and Nordstrom online for now. It is such an incredible product that I imagine it will be sold at all Guerlain counters soon. Don't let the price scare you. It is $140 for one glorious ounce in a beautiful pump bottle. My first bottle was purchased in early November and I was scraping the last of it in the beginning of April, (six months!!), and I use double the recommended number of pumps because it is totally worth it to me. It has smoothed my lines that were developing on my chest, crevasses really, another modern day miracle.

This is a product that I just want to shout about from the rooftops because it is truly a fountain of youth in a bottle. Here is my first bottle about mid-March.

If you have a Guerlain counter, try a sample. It may transform your skin as it has mine.

The Prowess and Perils of Vacation in the Blogosphere

I've been away most of March. To me, that's mostly a positive thing. The weather here is psychotic and dreary and if anybody says to me, "hey, you wanna go...", I start packing. Actually, it's not just March, it's also January and February. I thaw, which is positive, but the negative is that the blog I'm trying to build suffers. (Insert random vacation picture to keep your interest.)

(I am wearing Mac Prunella liner and Smashbox 3D mascara in the picture).

Still recovering from a neck surgery, and still with limitations on lifting, carrying and vacuuming, (yay), I travel with the iPhone and iPad. You know the limits, if you have these. You can do most things, but not all. So blogging while away is limited by technology but also by my schedule. I run around and am so busy that I am dog tired when I get home at night. I try to keep up with Y'all on Twitter but I even give that up after the first few days.

Simply put, playtime deletes work time.

Now, this past two weeks, I had an added delimma. I took pics on my iPhone for reviews while I was away, of course planning to upload them to photoshop at that time. (Loaded onto iphone because I can't load a camera to photoshop without a real computer.) Said IPhone was dropped on tile and nothing could be saved on it. I didn't have my laptop so I couldn't restore the photos. Enter new iPhone. Took some photos to load and made notes on what items were used, like any good blogger would, however, when I returned home and synched my new iPhone to the computer, all the latest pictures and notes were deleted. Curses, foiled again!!!

So what you have is a lot of time of no posts and this post with some screwy non-informational pictures. Beats a blank screen tho.

I left wearing OPI Katy Perry Teenage Dream, and let me tell you, if you want a week of nail compliments, this is what you wear! Guaranteed or I'll buy your bottle from you. My friends even had to try and find it. Now that was a hunt, indeed.

Here's a random lousy picture of a holo I wore before Teenage Dream and I don't remember which one it was, but what the heck.

After Katy Perry made her exit due to pool activity, and plus it was time anyway, I cut my nails back again...the flying and chlorine just kills them, so I had little stubbies that I painted to match the one swimsuit I wore the least. Go figure.

This is one of the Sephora mini polishes, I can't tell you the color cuz again, iphone delete, and on the tips is an OPI for Sephora bronze glitter. The red is one of the warm reds and the OPI for Sephora is Traffic Stopper Bronze Top Coat. This combo is wearing well. I've had it on a week and will be changing it any day when I can decide what I want to do next.

And you know, I am totally a makeup person, so why am I always blogging about nail polish? Perhaps because it photographs so much better. I dunno, but look out blogosphere....I'm back!
