Nail-Venturous Floam Nail Polish Swatches, Pics and Review

On what seemed to be a lackluster woe is me kind of day, I had a sudden bright light land at my doorstep. It was my best nail buddy, Tracy, with the widdest grin I've ever seen and in her hand was a bottle of Floam just for ME!! I tell you, Tracy can turn a frown upside down in a hot second, and not just because she was bearing gifts but just because she's a smile wrapped in flesh.

But about the Floam...wow, way more spectacular and fun that I would have imagined. This is an indie brand made by I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous and she sells her items on Ninja Polish.  I've heard there's also an Etsy store, and her polishes sell for $9.00 USD.  Those are the deets, let's look at the pics.

When your best nail buddy shows up at your door with a bottle of Floam, it will look like this:

Floam

Tracy and I had to play with the Floam that night. She, being a wiser soul than I, used three coats. I thought two was sufficient until I saw the macro shots with a flash hitting thru the particles. I didn't see any holes in person, but blown up with macro and a bright light, they are there and three coats would look better in pictures.

Nail-Venturous Floam Nail Polish

Floam is comprised of bright green, yellow and blue particles in a clear base. It has a brush that is different than any other I've used. It's very full and the bristles are loose. It's the perfect brush to deposit the Floam particles. This polish went on a lot better with that brush than I would ever have imagined.

Floam Nail Polish

I had some shrinkage at the tips because in my excitement, I forgot to wrap them. Tracy, again being the brains of the friendship, wrapped her tips, but both of us had some crazy good wear. The polish didn't budge the whole time I wore it, which was about six days. No chipping. No flaking. The removal was a bit like a glitter polish in that it takes a little extra time, but not nearly as much as a true foil glitter specked polish.

Nail-Venturous Floam Nail Lacquer

It took Tracy hours on the computer to be able to purchase this polish. It's not always readily available as it is an Indie Brand and without all the machinery of the big polish brands, it takes longer for batches to be made. For sure, this is one of my favorite polishes. Thank you, Tracy!!! Not only did she make my day but gave me loads of fun in the form of this polish. Joy! Joy! Joy!

Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex, Declatone Neck & Decollete' Complex And A Giveaway TO WIN THEM!

Oh, yes, we have a giveaway of two wonderful Hydroxatone items, their AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex with SPF 15, and the Declatone Neck & Decollete' Complex. While you wait for Rafflecopter to load, I'm going to tell you about these items. I've been using them for awhile and have been delighted with the results, as well as the products themselves. It feels like a treat to use them. I'm thankful to the Hydroxatone company for the opportunity to try these items and for sponsoring a giveaway so that one lucky reader will get to try them as well.

I have to show you the jars these creams come in.  They're so cute!!!  Somehow, they remind me of the Jetsons...maybe because they're the shape of the skirts the women wore, or maybe because of the hovercrafts, I don't know, but I get a kick out of the jars every time I look at them.

The AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex is full of all kinds of good for your face.  First, I want to point out that it has SPF 15 in it.  For me, that's a godsend, because I never remember to put on an SPF before I do makeup.  I depend on skincare and foundation to do that for me, so I was really thankful this cream has it in it.  I'd love for you to visit the Hydroxatone website to read more about this, and have provided that link for you to do so.

From the website, I'm going to list the awesome aspects of this cream:

  • Erases the appearance of fine lines/crow's feet around the eyes

  • Reduces the appearance of even deep wrinkles in the forehead area

  • Reduces discoloration and uneven skin tone

  • Hydrates skin across all age groups

  • Improves skin tone and radiance

  • Reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation and increases
    skin hydration by over 20%

  • Increases skin hydration

  • Includes SPF to protect skin against UVA/UVB rays

  • Dermatologist tested

  • Safe and paraben-free

  •

    The Cream contains:

Matrixyl 3000, which helps your skin to promote natural healthy levels of Collegen, Hyaluronic Acid and  Fibronectin, all necessary for youthful skin.

    Argireline, an anti-aging peptide.

Hyaluronic Acid, you will find this in all the best creams on the market.  It's ability to retain moisture to the skin is unsurpassed in other natural substances, creating that more youthful, softer and smoother look, resulting in decreased appearance of facial wrinkles.

SPF 3 which is an SPF 15 that fights UVA/UVB harmful rays.

A one ounce jar of this cream retails for $79.95.  It has a very delightful light fresh scent that I really enjoy.  It's not overly fragranced like some creams can be...it just smells fresh.  It is a light yellow color and melds seamlessly into the skin.

As much as I like the AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex, I think the Declatone Neck & De'colette' Complex was my favorite.  It has the same light delightly fresh scent.  It has done a great job of working on my neck, which has taken a beating over the winter.  My skin on my chest had gotten dry and was kind of bumpy feeling, almost rashy, with a red tone to it.  It's now all smooth and wrinkle-free, I'm delighted to report, and no longer red.

Additionally, I had a condition this winter called Corotidnya, which means that the nerve bundle around the corotid artery swells.  It's really painful and I noticed it looked terrible in pictures.  Much of the swelling is gone but I can see it in my photos, so it's been a real thorn in my side.  The Neck & De'colette' Complex really had work to do to keep my neck from looking hideous during this episode.  If it can help me, it can help anyone!

Please visit the Hydroxatone website at the link above to read about this cream.  I'm going to provide the interesting ingredients and what they do directly from the website.  The items of interest in this cream are:

Gatuline Intense Complex - Potent skin-firming ingredients support younger looking skin.

Matrixyl3000 - Clinically supported ingredient known to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles up to 45%.

Argirelin (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) - Advanced-peptide complex to effectively fight the visible sins of aging.

Hyaluronic Acid - Enhances skin's natural moisture levels.

Skin Brightening Complex - Improves the look of skin radiance, discoloration and hyperpigmentation.

A one ounce size of this cream retails for $79.95, and it looks like this:

Wait for the Rafflecopter widget to load so you can enter to win this retail value of $179.90!!  These creams are both wonderful and I'd like to again thank Hydroxatone for providing me both of them, free of charge, for sampling and offering the opportunity to run this giveaway to pass them onto one lucky reader.  The giveaway is open to US applicants only; my apologies to my international friends.  The products will ship directly from Hydroxatone.

Reader Request: L'Oreal Infalliable Silver Sparkle Nail Polish Swatches & Review

This post is in response to a reader request for nail swatches of the new L'Oreal Infalliable Silver Sparkle Nail Polish, first pictured in this blog post.  (Waves to Tina!)

The polish is part of a new display called "It's GOLD or Nothing At All!". There are a few other polishes in this collection but Silver Sparkle is the one that caught my eye. In it's pristine form, it looks like this:

    Loreal Silver Sparkle Nail Polish

    Loreal Silver Sparkle Nail Polish

When worn, the polish is a white silver base color which is highly reflective. It has sparkles of all different colors in it. It's not a really awful glitter to remove...I'd call it moderate in the glitter removal category. Because of the reflective quality in the base, a good swatch is hard to find. The following picture is the closest I got to the true color of the polish. The reflective base just drove my camera crazy. I am wearing two coats.

    Loreal Infalliable Silver Nail swatches

The next swatch is at an angle, not really showing the base, but it shows the multi-colored glitters in it.

    Loreal Infalliable Silver Nail Polish

I hope this gives an idea of what the polish looks like. In real life, without a bright light flashing on it, I don't see visible nail lines. I do in the camera's flash but the base looks thicker on the nail. I really hope this helps a little!!

Dior Bikini Nail Polish and Cover Band Sticks N Stones Swatches And Reviews

So last week, I was chomping at the bit for a couple of nail polishes. First, I was stalking the Dior counter waiting for the Summer Croisette Collection to come in. I finally got my grubby little mitts on the coral nail polish called Bikini. It's a nice medium depth coral that soothed my savage coral appetite. It has those special Dior tiny micro-shimmers that you don't really see with the naked eye, but add to the polish so that it doesn't look real flat.

I have a swatch wheel that compares it to a couple other corals I picked up for spring and summer. On the wheel, from the left, are Dior Bikini, Venique Brighten Your Day!, and Cult Nails Scandalous. The first two colors are two coats and Scandalous is three. You can see that Bikini is slightly dusty toned, while Brighten Your Day is a pink toned coral. Scandalous is a jelly, so it's hard to compare it.

Dior Bikini Venique Brighten Your Day Cult Nails Scandalous

If you haven't tried a Dior polish yet, what are you waiting for? I love the formula of the polish. The application is a DREAM and the brush is like a little cat's tongue, only far softer. The brush makes the application smooth and easy. With most Dior polishes, you could get away with one coat...they're just that good. I always use two cuz it's like some unwritten nail rule that I can't seem to break. I get very good wear with Dior and no chipping.

After about five days, I received Cover Band Sticks N Stones from Ninja Polish.  I'd been longing for this one, too, so when it came in, I just threw it over Bikini.  I loved it.  LOVED it!!  I've been a painter all my life, so this look reminds me of many times of pure artistic joy.

Dior Bikini Polish Cover Band Sticks N Stones

Sticks N Stones has an opacity that is rare to top coats. You don't have to layer it 100 times to get a good amount. I put just one coat and was good to go. Some of the white "sticks" can kind of stick out at the end of your nail or on the side, and all you have to do is just nip them for a flush feel. It seemed to be more of the white ones than the black.

    Cover Band Sticks N Stones

Dior Bikini Cover Band Sticks N Stones

dior bikini polish and Sticks N Stones

This was gobs of fun. Besides the "sticks" and the "stones", there are tiny glitter particles smattered here and there. Every so often, you just catch a hint of sparkle. Sticks N Stones can only be purchased on Ninja Polish and it retails for $9. It's not limited edition but it does sell out quickly.

Dior polishes are $23 and I purchased mine at Nordstrom. Most major department stores carry Dior as well as their own website.

(Links are provided for your ease of ordering. I have an affiliate relationship with Nordstrom. See my disclosure info for more details.)

I'm all into corals this spring...it has me wondering what color(s) you're rocking this spring. Is there a color scheme that is calling to you as strongly as coral is calling me? I'd love to hear what you're wearing.
