3 Eye Makeup Looks With MAC Pigments

Hey there boys and girls, I have a featured writer today from all the way across the world from where I live. It's pretty exciting to be introduced to makeup looks from another country and culture. Please visit my guest, Anamika's, blog, which is linked in the post. I hope you enjoy!!!

Hi Everyone!
I am Anamika, a beauty and makeup blogger from India. Like you all, makeup is my passion and I love experimenting and playing with eye shadows. Today I am showing you some of my previous eye looks which I would like to share with you girls. I am more of a smokey eye makeup girl and my blog is a gateway to bring it in front of makeup enthusiasts. So without wasting much time, I will stop ranting now and go straight to the eye makeup.

MAC Reflect Antique Gold Pigment

I did this eye makeup with MAC Reflect antique gold which is a beautiful brown shade with a very fine gold shimmer into it. It’s a loud shade so I don’t prefer wearing it during the day but for a night party, people will keep noticing your eyes for sure. This pigment is great for popping up smokey eye makeup look.

MAC Antique Green Pigment

First word which pops up into my mind when I swatched it was smoky. It’s a shade which smoky eye makeup lovers will easily fall for. It’s a combination of smoky black teal with a bit of gold and is uber silky and smooth. Also, It looks much prettier on eyes and gives out that royal feeling in comparison to the hand swatch .By the way I have a feeling that it looks like a much richer version of MAC humid eye shadow. Isn’t it? I did this looking keeping in mind this pigment.

Intense Arabic eye makeup with MAC Grape Pigment

Eye makeup which I have done here is smoky arabic makeup where I have used MAC Grape pigment and MAC Vanilla pigment. My Maybelline gel eyeliner was missing therefore I used a liquid eyeliner and Maybelline Kajal, (kohl), for the eyeliner and water line.
My thanks to Anamika for providing such an interesting post!

I Have To Tell You About NYX Cosmetics Sex Bomb Eyeshadow Palette

There are so many cool things to tell you about from Cosmoprof North America 2013, as always. I've VERY excited!!! I know you will be too. If you've followed my Instagram, Twitter, or Tumblr accounts, you've seen a lot of sneak peeks from CosmoprofNA 2013.  If you're not following me, get on it!!!  :)  There's lots of sneak previews that you don't want to miss.

My prediction for the first sell-out of everything I saw at Cosmoprof?  This!!

NYX Cosmetics, Sex Bomb, Eyeshadow Palette, femme fatale, Cosmoprof North America

Sex Bomb, Sex Bomb, you're my Sex Bomb....that's the Tom Jones version but I love the NYX Cosmetics version even more. I predict a very quick sell-thru once this hits the shelves. And I want it bad, so if I have to fight you in my neck brace, I will. Or not, because I'd lose. But I want this bad.

Because this is just a preview post, I'm going to share more pictures from this palette and it's accompanying palette called Adorable will sell out as well.

So this was a quickie little post, and I hope you enjoy the picture!!

The San Francisco Collection Is Coming From OPI For Fall 2013

Have you heard about the San Francisco Collection that's coming from OPI this fall? It's got three Liquid Sand colors, which I dearly love. The textures are cool and they often have awesome glitters in them. I haven't seen any swatches yet but I have a bottle group shot to show you today.

OPI San Francisco nail polish, fall 2013

There are some beautiful colors for fall 2013 here and I am especially excited for the Liquid Sand.  Can't wait to see swatches!!!

Here is a direct quote from the originator of OPI about her inspiration for this collection:

"“To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “San Francisco offers a European flair with distinct West Coast attributes. These  elements inspired a collection of urban chic nail lacquer shades, thanks to the sophisticated combination of high fashion and eclectic street style.

“With twelve colors ranging from moody grays and blues to garnet and ruby jewel tones, these lacquers are designed to accessorize fall’s hottest looks, from military details to winter whites,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “On fall runways, models were seen wearing luxurious textures from head to toe. The three newLiquid Sand nail lacquers incorporate the texture trend through nails, with rich matte finishes in colors to complement the season’s fashion.”

You can find OPI products at most salons and some other stores such as JC Penneys, Regis, and Ulta. For more information, you can always visit

Dear Readers, Visitors, Companies and Supporters Of All Types....

I wanted to take a moment to tell you I haven't turned to dust I hopefully I'll be returning later this week. If you haven't read it on my Facebook or Instagram page yet, I had surgery a month ago. But let me back up just a little.

I was due to have surgery to fuse my neck in two places, (from a fall on the ice around a year and a half ago), in April. If you've been with me that long, you'll remember I had surgery on my legs and shoulder last year. I think it took me about three months until I could lift the laptop to blog.

Anyway, the doctor wanted me to get in the best shape I could before surgery so it seems I've messed up my knee and I'm in therapy for that. But before I could get to the surgery, I got pneumonia. SO...My surgery was put off three weeks, we had my son's high school graduation, and now I'm a month post surgery. Today, I am able to lift my laptop from the stand it's been sitting on. Hooray, progress!!!

I have three weeks of emails to catch up on and some things to write up for My Beauty Bunny. About the time I get back on track for you, I'll be attending Cosmoprof North America, a very exciting beauty show for beauty professionals and media personnel and I'll have tons of things to tell you about what I see there and am allowed to talk about from various exhibitors.

Speaking of Cosmoprof, I got this flyer in the mail this past week and was pretty excited by the picture on the inside cover. In the front row left and right are Lindsey from Neverland Nail Blog and Carly from Lacquered Lover. Behind them you can see Destany from Confessions of a Sarcastic Mom on the left. Directly behind Carly is Ria of Ria Loves Pawlish, and then the blondie on the right is Me! How fun it was to open the advertisement and see part of our group!!! You can read all kinds of posts I did about Cosmoprof 2012, mainly from July '12 thru September '12.

So I really wanted you to know I haven't forgotten you. I've missed talking to you. It's just been such a more difficult recovery than I thought. I figured it would be two weeks and then I'd just run around with my neck brace in my way. The truth is, it's a long surgery, I had a few complications, and in the meantime, I have ordered many things to tell you all about. I can't wait.

Here's a fun thing my friends did for me right after the surgery. The neck brace had this big ugly yellow circle in the middle and my friends Candice DeGraff and Tracy Skipworth said, "There is no way you're going to graduation looking like that!!!" So they came over and this is what they did:

I love these girls so much and I appreciate what they did in helping this crazy thing to look acceptable at graduation. And honestly, I have never had more positive comments on a piece of jewelry than I've had on this neck brace!!

So that's where I've been. I'm not leaving. I am way behind, but I am on my way back!!!

CND Vinylux Weekly Nail Polish Pics and Swatches!!

There aren't too many things that get a beauty junkie more excited that a new line of nail polish from a trusted company. Have you heard about CND's new nail polish line called Vinylux Weekly Polish? WEEKLY!! That'll get a nailphile really excited!

The bottles are pretty, aren't they?

Vinylux Weekly Polish needs no base coat. It uses a new patent pending "Pro-Light" technology which creates a long lasting polish that increases it's strength and resistance to chipping over time. It cures using natural light and the use of the Vinylux Top Coat strengthens the polish as time goes on.

It sounds awesome. I've swatched the ones I picked up for you so that you can see the colors and next week, after I have my surgery, I'll put them to the wear test and report back to you on if it really lasts a week without chipping. There are 62 fashion forward colors plus the top coat. They even have a color that is a close dupe to Chanel Peridot. I've only seen about half of the colors so far.

The colors I purchased are, left to right, Hollywood, Tropix, Tutti Frutti, Beau, Sugar Spice, Water Park, Daring Escape, Steel Gaze, Overtly Onyx and Midnight Swim. Some of the colors have tiny micro-particles that my camera can't pick up but enhance the color. For instance, Hollywood has golden micro-particles in the bottle but they blend into the polish and create a glow in certain light. I thought it would be a red with glimmer, but it's not. It's more of a red that sometimes shows some golden tones.

Tutti Frutti has a violet iridescence that makes it a really nice fucshia. Daring Escape has a tiny bit of sparkle to it and I really think, in all my stash, I don't have anything quite this color. Midnight Swim has awesome shining midnight blue particles in it.

I can tell you, from swatching on this wheel, that the nail polishes are very smooth in application. Each layer blends seemlessly to the previous one. It's like nail polish magic!! There is nearly no dry time between coats. I can't wait to wear these!!!

When I first lined up the polishes to photograph, I forgot Midnight Swim on another table, so you won't see it in any of the following pictures, but I am gratuitously posting more pictures for your consideration.

I suspect these will be sold to salons, but I don't have that information yet. As soon as I find out if they're available publically for sale or online, I will let you know.
