Osmosis Skincare Watercolor Pigment Eyeshadows With Review and Swatches

If you're familiar with the brand Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare, you're probably most familiar with the items of skincare that they make. I'm currently testing some and I'm impressed so far! You may not know that Osmosis also has makeup products. What I have for you today are two of the Watercolors, a loose type of eyeshadow that is vastly different than any others you've used.  I hope this post can convey the differences accurately and the superiority of this products.

On the left you will see Onyx and the right is Pink Champagne, (0.075 oz ea.).  And you can see that the properties of the shadow accurately describe their names.

I think I'll just tell you right now that these are by far the best loose pigment makeup I've ever used.  I've used several brands of loose shadows, starting with Mac pigments.  When I started doing makeup, access to different brands, formulations and colors was fairly limited, so I used a lot of pigments and loose makeup to get what I needed.  In the last few years,  I gradually got away from them when the ease of pressed shadows from every internet nook and cranny satisfied my color cravings.

I didn't expect to love the Osmosis.  I assumed they'd be messy and like any other pigment I've used.  Not.  Sooooo not!!  I'll stop my story right here so that you can look at swatches...mean, right...?

When you move and the light hits different facets of the color, the shimmer will show either more or less.  They have multi-faceted color vallues.  They are superb.

The first time I used these, I held my breath and steadied my hands, expecting a Mac-like experience.  The formulation seemed somewhat different...they feel hydrating to the touch.  The company claims that they are a hydrating eye formula offering a radient glimmer to the lids without creasing.  I can tell you this is TRUE.  I've had zero creasing with these shadows which are infused with green tea, vitamins A, C and E, and goji berry.

More importantly, I've had zero fall-out from them, whether we're talking about dipping into the pot with a brush, applying the shades or wearing throughout the day.  I've had NO fallout!!!  And here's the other thing, I just slapped them on, without any special glitter primer or anything like that.  They wore really really well.  And I have had no fall out.  How is that even possible?

In the picture above, I'm not all dolled up or anything but this was my first run of the shadows.  And I took more pictures when I got home after running around all evening, probably five hours later.

I find the wear really impressive.  That's the Pink Champagne in the inner eye and Onyx at the outside.

Another time, I tested the shadows while going to see zoo lights.  Again, I had no fallout applying or later after we got home.  It's simply amazing.  AND...these are by far the best loose shadows I've ever used.  I wish we had feel-o-vision so you could feel the texture.  It's really cool.

Bottom line is the Osmosis Water Colors are the best loose makeup I've ever used.  I've said this 40 times already but you have to understand how impressive it has to have had no fallout in application or during wear.  And NO creasing!!  I'm truly amazed at this product.  Of course I want all the colors now, lol.  They are really terrific!!!

You can follow Osmosis on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and you can read all kind of useful information on their blog.  Osmosis is available for purchase on HERE.

I'm going to leave you with my smoldering look....and ask....

...do you have a favorite loose shadow you'd like to tell me about, brand, color or both?

The Perfect Holiday Red Gel Polish - Gelish Good Gossip

So before Christmas, I wanted to do a really cool nail art manicure, using Gelish Good Gossip as the base.  I applied the base and a coat of polish, then another....I looked at my nails and said "oh my gosh what a beautiful color!" and ditched the nail art ideas and wore this delicious red instead.

review, swatches

I wasn't prepared for the terrifically holo scattered red lights inside.  The polish gives the look of layer after layer of shiny red Christmas lights.  It's so much more beautiful in person than pictures.

swatches, review, sallys, nailpolishswatches, review

I hoped showing it under different lights could bring out the glowing effect of the red specks inside.  They just glow like Christmas lights.  It's a bright and beautiful color.

swatches, review, Sallys, nail polishnail polish, swatches, sallys, review

It's just crazy pretty and sparkly without glitter no matter how you look at it.  This is two coats of Good Gossip and applied using the Gelish lamp and treatment system.  I LOVED wearing this!!

Gelish Mini's can be purchased at Sally Beauty Supply for $12.99 each, and the cost is a little cheaper if you are a beauty club member.  I loved wearing this as you might have seen on my social media.  Gelish just never fails me.  I wore this for 12 days when I got really ancy for a color change.

Did you have special Christmas or other holiday makeup or manicures?  Feel free to share what you did below.  Do you do gel polish at home?

Now at Ulta Beauty, Tartan + Twine Plaid Brinton Alley Beauty Organizer Makeup Bag.

Today I want to show you a cute Tartan + Twine cosmetic bag to organize your latest purchases and gifts from the holidays. You can find it in store at Ulta Beauty where I just saw it on sale for $16.99.   It's the cutest plaid, a great size with lots of places to store stuff  and I know you need it!!

tartan plaid

This bag is the perfect size to use as a clutch purse.  It will hold your day's makeup, your cell phone and your wallet, or if you use a large purse, you can slide this bag right in it.  It is a very sturdy woven nylon in red, white, blue and black.   It measures 8.5" long, 6" high and 2" in depth.  You can see it has the Tartan + Twine gold bar log on the front, which matches the zipper handles on the outside.

tartan plaid

Cute, right?  But wait until you see the inside!!  The bag packs a bang for the buck!!!  It has two removeable pouches on the inside, a zippered pouch on one end and a sectioned holder for brushes, pencil liners or mascaras on the other end.

Tartan Plaid
As much as I love the plaid on the outside, the inside is "all that" and so much more!!!  The inner removeable pouches snap into the bag with ease and can be removed just as well.  They measure 7" long by 5" high each.  Great sizes to remove and carry around with you if you don't want to take the whole bag.

I have put my Beauty Junkees kabuki brushes in the slotted end of the bag so you can see that there are two levels of slotted pouches.

The inside is a beautiful crimson.

The bag easily doubles as a clutch purse, if you want to run around with it.

This is a sweet bag.  You'll want to go to Ulta as soon as you can to look at it.  It's going to be so sturdy...you can just tell by the feel of it.  It has a lot of attention to detail and is put together well.  And it's CUTE!!!  I LOVE the plaid!!!

It truly will hold and organize many of your new products.  What do you think?  Could you see this in your purse or on your vanity?  What would you store in it?  Specific products or the day's makeup for touch ups?  I hope you all have had a great holiday season!  Here's to the New Year!

Youngblood Cosmetics Cobalt Blue Mascara Review - And Why You Really Need It

I've got a beauty secret I want to share with you.  Think of it as a Christmas gift from me to you.  You need a good blue mascara in your makeup arsenal.  I'd like to recommend that you add the cruelty free Youngblood Cosmetics Holiday 2015 Mascara in the Cobalt color, (.6 fl oz / $26).   Youngblood is a luxury mineral makeup line that uses minerals from the earth, rather than dyes and chemicals that can irritate eyes and skin.  You can read about the brand at this link.

I like to grab a cup of coffee or tea before opening presents, so let's have a cup of your favorite beverage together and talk about this mascara!!

Many years ago, I discovered the wonder of dark blue mascara.  I'm talking about a fashion forward blue, like the cobalt color of the Youngblood Cosmetics mascara, not a baby blue 70's kind of color.  I like to use either a navy or dark cobalt eyeliner to tightline my eyes, no matter what color theme I'm sporting, and/or a cobalt or navy colored mascara on the underneath part of my lashes, close to the lashline, and wiggle it in like a liner.  Why??  Because blue in a subtle form around the eye accentuates EVERY eye color.  Seriously, try it.  You'll see.  There is nothing like a deep bright blue to bring out your eye color.  And the Youngblood cobalt mascara is the perfect shade.

It's a little difficult to show the color of the mascara because it's on a black wand.  But let's try.  I've turned up the brightness on the first picture below so that you can see the color better.

Of the 50-some pictures I took just of the mascara on the wand, I felt like it showed best with no editing against my red pajamas.

I've swatched the mascara for you next to a black so that you can see the difference in color.

There are so many qualities about this mascara that are fantastic.  The color is the perfect depth of blue.  The formula of the mascara is outstanding!!!  It isn't goopy, doesn't flake, smudge or peel and applies like a dream.  The brush is perfect for seperating my lashes and the mascara lengthens them to just about the length of a false lash.

I normally only use blue mascara close to the upper lash line.  However, I can use the Youngblood Cobalt mascara all over, including my lower lashes.  Because it doesn't run or smudge, I can wear it all day without rubbing it all over.  I have an eye that's been weepy for the past year and this mascara stays put without wandering into the drizzle that I'm having such trouble with.

The mascara has a great feel on the lashes.  It's not heavy and it's just so smooth!!  I debated whether to post a picture of it on the eye just because the ones I took are without other makeup so that you can see the mascara and what it does for the lashes....but well, here we go.  My lashes are so long with this mascara!!

I'd love for you to try it.  I highly recommend it for application, wear, color and formula.  The formula includes moisturizing sunflower seed oil and conditioning emollients.  It feels great on the lashes.  The cobalt mascara is out for the holiday season 2015, so don't let it pass by.

You can purchase the Youngblood Cosmetics Cobalt Mascara online and be sure to read about the company.  Don't forget to follow them on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Now that I've told you my beauty secret, tell me yours!  What is one thing you do that you feel subtlely perks up your look?

For A Beautiful Glow, Try Kardashian Beauty Incandescent Lightbox In Aurora; Swatches And Review

Have I got a treat for you today!! I bought the Kardashian Beauty Incandescent Lightbox, ($14.99), highlighter in the color Aurora when I first saw it at Ulta about a month ago.  It looked stunning in the pan and is no less beautiful on the skin!!!  I used to buy my Kardashian Beauty products at Fred Meyer when I lived in the PNW, and now I'm thankfully able to find them at Ulta.  This is good makeup, people!!!  It doesn't matter what you think of reality tv, the Kardashian Beauty line is one worth checking out.  I've purchased many of their products and none have failed to perform.  So let's look at the newest highlighter.

swatches, review, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe

If you whirl it around in different lighting, you can see the different aspects.  For instance, the above picture shows the base colors, while the one below shows more of the irridescence.

swatches, review, KBeauty, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe

With my dry skin, I'm all about that glow, as are the Kardashians, so I just had to buy this.  The size of the compact is very large, fitting across my palm, so it's a lot of bang for your $14.99, especially if you get it at Ulta this week where Kardashian Beauty products are buy one, get one 50% off!!!

Anyway, working from the inner most star to the outer, (right to left in the picture below), there is a peachy highlight, a gold highlight, and a pink toned highlighter.  You could use them seperately with the right brushes.  You can use them all mixed together, and you can mix them in a way that uses more of one color than the others.

I'm taking a guess at the creation of this product but to me, the peachy would be Kourtney, the gold is Kim and the pinky is Khloe.  Mix them all together and you have Mama Kris who embodies the essence of each individual daughter i.e. swatch color.

swatches, review, Kbeauty, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe

On my hand, the colors are swatched the same way as you see the compact above.  The peach is on the right, the gold is in the middle, the pinky is on the left.  Beneath are the three colors together.  Isn't it beautiful!!  Each color shows a different aspect as you move through various lighting and lighting angles.

swatches, review, Kbeauty, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe

I like each color individually but I really love them combined.  The Incandescent Lightbox in Aurora lasts all day on me.  I have hope that more colors may follow since this one is named.

Two other Kardashian products that I love and find to be superior quality are the Radient Ombre blushes, and the Cabana Bronze Matte Bronzer.  The bronzer has fantastic neutral tones and I've used it to sculpt, highlight and contour with ease.  I've often gone out with just the Cabana Bronzer strategically on my face.  Nothing but nice quality products.

You can purchase Kardashian Beauty at Ulta, and Fred Meyer, and online at Ulta.com and KBeauty.  Be sure to follow the brand on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and let your inner Kardashian glow!!

Have you tried any of the Kardashian Beauty products?  If you have, what is your favorite?

Block Island Organics Cruelty Free Vegan Formula Night Cream - Review Plus A Savings Coupon!

Today I want to share with you a moisturizer I've been using from Block Island Organics, a cruelty free organic company that includes all of the good and none of the bad in their night cream.  The team behind Block Island Organics wish to keep you informed about being safe outside from the sun's harsh rays all year 'round.  On their website is the best explanation of sun protection that I've ever read.  It explains the difference between typical sunscreen ingredients and what mineral sunblock is.  I'd highly recommend the read.  There is also a Q & A section about how UV rays work, which you'll find really interesting.  I really encourage you to read these sections and you'll feel the passion the company has to protect our skin.

So about the Revitalizing Night Cream, (2 fl oz./$29.99).

It comes in a nice white pump top bottle.  it has great skincare ingredients like the antioxidents vitamins C and E as well as organic ingredients like cocoa butter, rosehip, avocado, aloe vera, jojoba and more.  There are none of the things that are bad for us, such as parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalated dyes or artificial frangrance.  The cream has a barely detectible fresh scent, and I mean you have to smell it with passion to smell anything.  You can find a full list of ingredients on the website here.

It is recommended to use the night cream...well, at night.  It is fairly lightweight for a night cream and while it nourishes and moisturizes, it is non-greasy and absorbs quickly.  You can also use it during the day, which I do.  My skin is really dry.  I wait a little longer than usual to apply my primer and foundation, but it goes on easily and there is no conflict with the products using this as a day cream.

In the picture above, you can see the more hydrated area on my hand to the right of the cream blob where I rubbed some in...mainly because I was a spaz and forgot I was taking a photo and just thinking how dry my hands were.  I like to use facial moisturizers on my hands because hand cream doesn't usually have any sunblock to it.  At any rate, you can see that the right side of my hand isn't greasy or anything.  I wish I could show you how well it absorbs, but you'll just have to try it for yourself.

The story behind Block Island Organics is pretty cool.  It's a majority female owned family company that started on Block Island, Rhode Island.  It is their belief, as it is mine, that good skin care involves good suncare night and day because the sun is the leading cause of premature skin aging and damage.  They believe skincare doesn't need to be complicated, overly expensive or chemically manufactored.  They feel a passion to educate consumers while providing quality products and simplifying the skin care process.

I've been using this about six weeks.  I did something stupid and burnt my skin about 2 weeks ago with a product and had a cut by my eye, so I couldn't use anything, and boy did my skin miss this cream!!!!  I mean like it was screaming for moisture.  I was so thankful to begin using this again!! This is a night cream that I believe you will love the feel of as well as it's moisturizing and sunblock effects.

You can learn more about Block Island Organics on their website and be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.   I think you'll really like this night cream and the company has provided my readers a discount when purchased from Wednesday, December 2 though Tuesday, December 8.  The 20% off coupon is "shelley" and isn't combinable with other codes.  That's right, twenty percent.    Be sure to check out all the suncare information.  You'll learn a lot!!
