What's New In Multi-Misting From Pixi Beauty Skintreats

Pixi Beauty has been just killing it in the skincare department over the past couple of years.  My honest opinion is that the nickname Skintreats was given to the carefully curated cruelty-free beauty products in Pixi's skincare line for good reason!  I want to tell you today about the beauty mists that are new to Pixi and definitely seem to be a treat to use.   The mists are 2.7 fl oz each and retail for $15 per mist.  Each may be used separately or together in a layering fashion to achieve maximum results. There are five mists total and I have four of them for you today.  If you prefer to watch youtube, I have a recent video where I reviewed the mists and showed how to use them.   You'll find that clip beginning at about 9:47.

The first product in the group is the Vitamin Wakeup Mist.  It is a vitamin boosting toner which is said to give a revitalized awakened effect to the complexion.  You can use it day or night but it should be the first thing after cleansing.  I use it in the morning as the first part of my routine.  The Vitamin Wakeup Mist has an orange blossom water base and contains other citric extracts, lavender, and arginine, (a skin healing and collagen promoting amino acid), among so many other good things that you can read on this ingredient list.

The spritz feels wonderful on my face and gives me a healthy hydrated look.  Vitamin C makes my skin glow while protecting it from environmental assaults.  The scent is both comforting and invigorating to me.  How I feel about the look of my skin using it combined with the energizing scent helps me to feel confident to face the day.  This is my very favorite of the mists.

Next in the lineup is the Hydrating Milky Mist.  It provides instant hydration using hyaluronic acid to plump skin by trapping the moisture in a protective layer.  The ingredients include black oat, multiple B vitamins, and linoleic acid.  The full paraben free ingredient list can be found here.

You can use the Hydrating Milky Mist throughout your day and evening to give instant hydration.  I use this about 30 seconds after I use the Vitamin Wakeup Mist.  They both absorb quickly and I am really happy with the results.  This spray is my second favorite and it's a close second to the first one.

If you're a Pixi fan, you might already be familiar with the Pixi Glow Mist.  Here is what I said about it in 2015 when it was released:  "Pixi Glow Mist is a great addition to the line.  It contains 13 different oils in addition to propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts.!!  It is literally loaded with great things.  And it has a clean fresh scent which I really like while absorbing quickly.  I have really dry skin so this works very well for me.  Use it before makeup to hydrate, protect and nourish your skin.  Use it after makeup to set it and provide a natural glow while protecting your skin and makeup application.  Use it anytime to feel refreshed or to add a glow.  The bottle is travel sized at under 3 fl ounces so take it on an airplace with you to remain hydrated and look fresh when you touch down.  Be sure to shake this a little before using to mix all the oils."

I don't use this as often as I used to.  I feel like my skin already looks so incredibly healthy from the first two sprays that I don't feel a need to add much more.  Also, I test a lot of skincare products, including facial oils, so I had to shelve this one for a bit.  However, I do use it regularly on my body to maintain glow and hydration.

The fourth Skintreats spray that I have is the Makeup Fixing Mist.  This mist is designed to be used after makeup to keep it set in place and prevent creasing, melting and moving.  You can spritz it on a brush to add intensity when using a powder product such as an eyeshadow or highlighter that you want to pop.  It contains green tea, rose water and these other fine ingredients.

When I first used the Makeup Fixing Mist, it became my favorite makeup setting spray.  It does what it claims and it felt like a skin treat on application.  It is hydrating, lightweight and smells fresh..

I really truly look forward to using the mists each day.  I'm hoping to pick up the Sun Mist soon and add that to my multi-misting routine for skin protection.  I find these mists to be excellent in performance and am so glad they were added to the Pixi Skintreats family.  My skin is looking brighter, healthier, more hydrated and has a smoother surface than before they arrived at my house.

Pixi by Petra Beauty products can be purchased in Pixi boutiques, Pixi online, and both instore and online at Target.  You can keep up with Pixi by following their blog, and on their social media channels:  Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and youTube.

Have you tried any of the mists?  What do you use to achieve a healthy glow?

New Color Correction Options From Hard Candy Plus Giveaway!

Do you have redness or sallowness of the skin that your foundation doesn't quite cover?  Do your deep under eyes shine with color despite your concealer?  Color correcting products go quite a long way to even out those areas that we feel are flaws.  When combined with a makeup base, they can even skin tones and hide a multitude of unpleasant hues.  No company has a wider variety of color correcting products than Hard Candy, (sold at Walmart).  I have a few to show you today and at the end of the post, we have a giveaway for 5 people to each win the four items I am showing in this post.

Hard Candy has provided a full range of correcting colors as well as a variety of delivery systems.  There are creams, drops, brush-ons, palettes and sticks.

Hard Candy has a scale of colors for the following benefits:

Green - Neutralizes redness from rosacea, acne, uneven pigmentation and sunburn.
Yellow - Neutralizes and brightens mild skin redness.
Pink - Neutralizes dullness and sallowness in fair to light skintones.
Lavender - Neutralizes dullness and sallowness in medium to dark skintones.
Peach - Neutralizes dark circles and spots in fair to light skintones.
Orange - Neutralizes dark circles and spots in medium to dark skintones.

The first two I want to show you today are two of the Color Correct Expert Sticks, ($5).  These are creamy jumbo style pastel stick concealers.  They are soft retractable pencils so that you never need to sharpen them.   I have the yellow and the lavender.  These are easy to work with and precise in application.   I often use the yellow to brighten my undereye area.

The Color Correct Cushion Wonder, ($6), is my favorite of the items I received for testing.  The color correcting serum is squeezed out of the tube onto a cushion tip.  I use this just about every day in Peach to color correct before I apply concealer.  The applicator has a twist on and off.  Once in the on position, you can squeeze the product into the cushion.

The first time I used it, I squeezed a little hard and scared myself with how much had come out.

It blends really beautifully with it's lightweight formula.  I was quite surprised at how easily it blends.  Sorry for the poor quality, but I took these pictures on Snapchat of my first use and then saved them from Snap.

I blended it up onto my naturally red eyelids, too, and it worked for them as well.  After color correcting, I'd be free to apply my concealer, foundation and the rest of my makeup.  I often just powder this color correcter and put on foundation.  I don't really need to put a concealer on top because it matches my skintone so well.

The fourth product I received is this Color Correct Expert Creme Wand, ($5), in the color orange.  The wand has a brush tip applicator that is easy to get into all those contours, even to the inner eye.  It has a bling-y handle which makes it uber cool.

I will often use the orange and blend it out on my under eye circles.  For me, this acts to cancel the color under my eyes and needs to be followed up with a skin toned concealer.

I have swatches on my arm of each product and below the swatches, I have them blended a little so that you can get an idea of what they might look like in use.

The Hard Candy color correcting items that I have in my possession are really good products.  It's almost hard to believe that you can purchase such nice products for so little cash.  They're definitely worth checking out.  Because I have such dry skin, both liquid products are the ones that I personally prefer.

You can purchase Hard Candy products at Walmart.  Visit them on their website and follow on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.  They are on Snapchat as HeresHardCandy.

For the giveaway:  Five people will be chosen at random to each receive the items I have featured.  Once I have contacted the winners, when they respond with their addresses, the items will be shipped from Hard Candy to the winners.  Just enter to win via the gadget below.  The competition ends at 11:59 pm on June 6th, 2017.
