Mac Cosmetics Marilyn Monroe Lipstick Collection Swatches and Pics

Let's talk about Mac Marilyn Monroe lipsticks.  There are five in this collection and they are Love Goddess, Scarlet Ibis, Charmed I'm Sure, Deeply Adored and Pure Zen.  Two of the colors are repromotes, being packaged in the new uber cool Marilyn Monroe lipstick cases, and the other three are brand new colors for the collection. The boxes and the lipsticks cases both contain pictures of the beauty icon. Each kind of item in this collection has it's own unique packaging. Behold that of the lipstick:



It takes my breath away how beautiful Marilyn was. On the inside of each box, she's left you a kiss in a Marilyn-esque red.



Look at the tubes. Gah. Fabulous!!




Let's look at the beauties uncapped. They are, from left to right, Love Goddess, Scarlet Ibis, Charmed I'm Sure, Deeply Adored and Pure Zen.



Love Goddess is a satin formula in a pink red. This is more of a magenta or subdued fuchsia on me. Scarlet Ibis is a matte bright orange red. On my pale lips, it's more orange than red, but the pigmentation of your lips is going to make a difference in how the first two look. Charmed I'm Sure is a matte in a dark true red. Deeply Adored is a matte deep scarlet. Lastly, Pure Zen is a cremesheen formula in a beige nude color. It pulls peachy on me and seems more like a lustre but it might be because it's such a light color.

So let's look at some swatches. They are listed in the same order with 1 signifying Love Goddess. 2 = Scarlet Ibis. 3 = Charmed I'm Sure. 4 = Deeply Adored and 5 = Pure Zen.



Special packaging comes with a special price of $16.50 USD. I would link you to where you could purchase them but I think they're sold out on every website where Mac is sold. I don't want to give false hope, but my Nordstrom Mac counter said they were expecting more for a Marilyn event.  I really don't count on that, but you might check around in your local area, just in case.
